Rob Ryan on Redskins offense

Post by cowboykillerzRGiii »

"It all starts with that offensive line.. by far the most physical group we have faced all year.."

Scotty Mc has to be mighty proud with the way Callahan and our Oline have progressed.

An interesting stat is our YAC.. while Kirk was just "dinking and dunking" (save for the one play over the top to DJax) he has got he ball into the hands of our play makers, and let them earn their paycheck. This is what we need, but a couple more deep plays today would be SAWEET!

I'm all for it! BEAT NC!!!!

sick and tired of the offensive game planning - we do not have a QB that is very good with the ball in the passing game and we need to run the ball often - today we saw the passing game early and unfortunately while there were many completions, this is not a formula for success with this QB and this O line - we need to run the ball more than we throw it

VERY disappointing to lose a game I feel we could have won with a much bigger commitment to running the ball
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Out coached, overmatched, and just not good enough to stop the Panthers. I think this game defines Kirk as an inconsistent noodle arm pick machine. I gave him his daps last week but he looked like hot garbage today; my ffb squad thanks him for the L. Dumb

I have been saying this all along after wins and losses: Gruden is not an NFL Coach. Kirk Cousins is a great back-up QB but his noodle arm is not respected by NFL defenses and they are taking away the run in order for Kirk to beat them. He can beat the last place teams in defense and in last years record, but he does not have the physical talent to be a consistent starting QB in this league.

Gruden must go. Alfred Morris- where is this guy? Why is he replaced by a fumbler. We have a 3 time 1000+ yard rusher who goes to the Pro Bowl and Gruden destroys him. What about Kerrigan? A Pro Bowl LB who has been schemed out? WTF. Gruden is not someone who can adapt to players. He cannot adapt in any way.

This is an emabrassment, but it clearly shows we do not have an NFL quality coach and we have a back-up qb that can beat the 30-something defenses but cannot even look remotely qualified against even mediocre NFL teams.

Snyder needs to change this. Im fine with Cousins staying on as a backup, but Gruden must go.

Did Cousins play good yesterday? No. Not at all. He was largely ineffective for nearly the entire game. But to say that this game defines him as a "noodle arm pick machine" yet again shows how you and others desperately want him to fail. This game defines nothing other than the fact that this team cannot compete with top tier teams. That's it. You can't gleam anything from Cousins' performance, considering the total rushing yards we had was 14. 14!

This was a team failure. And for that, I really don't blame players.

We just aren't good enough.

And our coach just isn't good enough to overcome a talent deficit.

The anti-kirk trolls are back baby!!!!!!

Right on schedule.

If anyone comes away from that game yesterday as saying our QB was the primary problem, then they just don't understand the game of football.

As far as RGIIICowbz quote --- not sure they are as proud today as they were last week....... they are still one of the worst 3 OLs in the NFL right now.

When the smoke settles we will find a middle ground.. if Robert performed like that, he would be getting burned at the stake here... Of course it wasn't ALL captain Kirk... But awe sure as hell didn't lose in spite of him. He wasn't good vs a good D.

Hopefully he rebounds, and can at least sweep dullass

For all you "objective" folks- how does a team open up the run game?

Answer: complete some passes down field.
If they keep stuffing it, punish them over the top. We sucked in all facets of the game, qb including. Sorry

Get Barry Sanders out of retirement? 8-[

Morris is washed up. Jones can't hold onto the football. Thompson was the leading rusher with 10 yards on 4 carries.

Last week there were some people telling me I was wrong about Morris. This week they're silent.

No he wouldn't. A 22/30 stat line with ZERO help from the o-line and run game would have gotten him universal praise on here.

The entire team (save Andre Roberts) SUCKED yesterday. All of them.

I guess my post has been proven correct now for 2 different reasons. It's like ](*,) . The pass does NOT open up the run. It is the other way around --- especially when CAR's DL were the ones in the backfield making tackles (and not the OLBs or DB/CBs that would play up). Outside of Benwhiker, every sack and TFL was created by a DE or DT. They would have gotten to Kirk and/or our RBs REGARDLESS of the pass situation based on their DEF scheme. Did you even notice what their DL was doing. It was incredible. They were double gaping on Long or stunting across him and crushing the 1 and 2 holes. Downfield passing wouldn't have done anything to rectify that. That was an issue due to our OL, IMHO and based on the stats. Oh, but I guess those facts wouldn't have fit within your anti-kirk agenda......

Regardless you talk out of both sides of your mouth. You say Kirk has a "noodle arm" and "pick machine" (which is odd because he's had 2 INTs in the past 4 games.....) --- but then you cover yourself and say it was a "team loss". Well if it was ---- why? You only mention Kirk's bad play -- when he had a 53.4 QBR (which isn't bad). Which other players contributed? Was it the 44 our DEF gave up? Was it the fact our OL gave up 5 sacks to a QB with one of the fastest triggers in the NFL? Is it our RBs, that rushed for 14 yards? For some strange reason you only mention the QB --- who actually was the best OFF player from a statisticaly standpoint yesterday (outside of Jackson).

With each post, you just dig a deeper anti-kirk hole for yourself.

Oh and RGIII would have been praised if he played even as remotely well as Kirk did yesterday. That isn't even debatable. There is FAR FAR FAR more preference provided to RGIII than Kirk has or will ever get in DC. That is a fact. After all, RGIII has only had 6 games since 2012 with a higher QBR than 53.6. Get over your bias. It's embarassing.

Keep trollin' if it makes you feel better though

I could care less what you think I am Mark. You troll me every week, and I like having a fan honestly.

Anti Kirk? Are u a girl or what? There is no line. I root for all my qbs. Look at the first post of this thread, or my nfc player of the week post. Maybe because people built him up too high last week expectations were high- but Kirk did not step up to the plate yesterday vs a good team.

Guess who got most the praise last week? The HC and the QB are first in line to get a pat on the back and likewise first to catch the bullets. That's how it goes.
No anti Kirk, hidden agenda, or secret hopes of failure for him.. sorry. No evil doll of him gettin poked with pins here

**I wasn't able to watch the game in its entirety, it got changed at work due to the massacre. I didn't see good play, I saw the D come close but get robbed.. then it just got worse and worse in all phases. I didn't see good qb play, but if it was sorry for the knee jerk reaction..

I am not saying you don't "root" for all QBs. You just root for them DIFFERENTLY and with complete bias --- more than anyone I have ever known; which is why I reply to your ridiculous posts. :D

Your NFL player of the week thread was a praise to the ENTIRE TEAM more than the person that actually won the award. I didn't consider that praise for Kirk --- more a way to divert praise from the person that won the award and pass it to everyone. Kirk got praise because he deserved it. This week he won't get praise, but he shouldn't be blasted because he doesn't deserve -- based on his play -- to be blasted because his play wasn't as bad as the OL, RBs, TEs, or entire DEF. Kirk did step up to the plate in that he was the only OFF player that was average or better (outside of Jackson).

You last week: "Great team win!!!"
You this week: "Cousins is a noodle arm pick machine"

After all you never answered my question, if it was a "team loss" and you only pointed our Cousins --- who else played bad (especially when our QB played average) --- EDIT: I think that was your response directly above; if I'm wrong, please post your answer.

I skim most of your replies admittedly. Mike Jones was a hot mess yesterday if u need names. Culliver was abused, not sure how D Hall played but I think we will be happier when Keenan Robinson is back in the middle.

I think if I had to pin point one area I'd say the coaches were schooled and put our guys in poor position to be successful.

I just think we have Kirk a lot more credit for beating a horrible team, but had a lot of support. Vs a better team he didn't carry the team when he needed to. The INT I saw was God awful.. the td pass to Djax was sexy. He seems to lack arm strength and over compensates by heaving it around as hard as he can to often. I feel like in. Game like that we need a spark from the QB to get things going, and we didn't get that.

If that means I'm a Kirk troll to you, great. I defend the cap on social media as much or more then anyone

Hard to "carry" a team when you only have 21 plays in the first half. I don't think anyone here is saying Kirk is a guy who's going to carry a team...those kinda of guys are far and few in between.

Passing does open up the run game. Our RBs have been non-existent since Kirk has been the QB minus the first couple of games when opposing defenses still hadn't figured it out. We have a 3 time 1000+ Pro Bowl Ruseer who has disappeared- and everyone is blaming him. I'm not buying it. I'm blaming Jay's play calls.

I live in Ohio and people were so happy to see Jay go.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2174 ... ls-offense

Gruden has a history of abandoning the run. He is said to not have really helped Dalton mature. He is said to have held his team back. You can google articles about his inability to adjust in the 3rd quarter in Cincy as well. This is the word on the ground of him here.

Pretty much what many of us feel as Redskins fans.

Dan wanted him fired last year per reports. He is gone after the season and it cant happen too soon.

Ah yes...Kirk is the reason for the running game failures. Has absolutely nothing to do with our starting center and guard being out.

And Grudes is "absolutely safe" after this season. WOO HOO! Consistency!
