I'm fine sticking with Scot. Last year I would have agreed with you, though.

I don't want anyone taking Scot's job but there are reasons so many former Redskins under Joe Gibbs have executive positions with NFL franchises.
Mark Murphy? Todd Bowles? Mayhew until an hour ago. Several others if I think for a minute. I think he'd be an asset to the organization and another layer of insulation between Dan Snyder and anything to do with personnel.
Give him Bruce Allen's job.

anyone that has established themselves as being of any value to an NFL franchise is going to be more interested in going to work with people that know what they're doing - we have a little way to go before we get that kind of reputation
mostly we're going to get guys that are looking to establish themselves not guys that are already well established
I really do believe that we're getting there but this owner would not be high on my list unless I was a little desperate to find a job - like guys that want to be a Head Coach and will take anything to prove they can do it ... especially with a guy that can afford to fire you at any time

the other common denominator is, they are all defensive backs... The exception is Mayhew's predecessor in Det... Who's name, amazingly escapes me now, who was a linebacker, spent most of his career in SF...
I get the frustration in Detroit, but Ford will regret letting Mahew go.

You forgot Matt "The Villain" Millen? That guy made Vinny Cerrato look like a draft guru.

I think Matt Millen was a LB for the Raiders, the 49ers and the Redskins ...

Millen had about one season with the Redskins. As I remember it, they made him inactive whenever they faced a passing team...and that 1991 season was "the year of the run&shoot". Played Monte Coleman instead. Millen arrived, he left, and it was hard to know he was ever a Redskin.
