There's no way to "Like" a post, apparently, so I look forward to it. I'll add it to Rick Snider's Redskins edition.

Congratulations Jake. That's awesome, even if I'm not a Nationals fan.

Thanks, guys!
SJ, I'm pretty sure it will be, but wouldn't an autographed copy be even better?

Jake, you are no longer a "junior" Hog...it was a thrill to see your name on the first pictures of Papelbon attacking Bryce Harper..."we knew him way back when".
Consider bring copies of the book or flyers to the 4th Annual D.C. Baseball History Meeting:
List of speakers:
Mike Wallace
Jim French
Russ White
Saturday, February 27, 2016
1:00 P.M – 5:00 P.M.
Hilton Garden Inn

Bethesda, MD 20814

To reserve a seat you will want send a e-mail to Mark Hornbaker at mhornbaker@comcast.netMy note: Jim French was the 5-8 catcher who could drive Ted Williams crazy. One of the few players not intimidated by Ted. Not a great hitter, but a fine catcher. Could catch a foul sliding on his back. Jim Hannan's personal catcher. French was one of the two "mini-Nats" who would chase Frank Howard around the clubhouse after a victory, swatting Hondo in the shins with a fungo bat. (Eddie Brinkman the other). French got a BA and then an MBA while playing for the Nats. Then became a trial attorney.
Russ White was one of the great Washington sportswriters. Russ worked for the Daily News and the Evening Star. Russ White has said that "In respect to catcher Jim French, I will deliver my talk in Riviera French." Brilliant writer. Began about 1960, just out of the Navy, and continued until he retired. For samples of White, see

Example:
"Vince Lombardi told me one day that I was a "necessary nuisance." We went to Catholic Mass on Sundays when the Redskins played on the road. Lombardi had a priest travel with the team. "I'm not that religious," he assured me. "I need forgiveness for my impatience. I'm a very impatient man."

The book is finally available in physical form! The official publish date is April 15 but I have autographed advance copies available
here.
It covers a wide range of topics involving the Senators and Nationals. Be sure to tell your friends, family and colleagues! It's a great read for catching up on your Nationals fandom before Opening Day!
