You can call it "big boy football", but we know it as "smash mouth" football. Introduction to Football, as taught by the master, Joe Gibbs. Great to see.
Any time a Redskin team has about twice as many first downs, any time the OL pounds the defense, somewhere, Joe is smiling.
The NFL is not supposed to look like Arena Football, no matter how they change the rules. As Joe demonstrated, you don't need a "franchise QB" to win. You need an OL and a DL. They are the engine. An ordinary driver with a powerful engine will win the race. Hail to the Redskins!!!!

A running game that works... and a defense that can make the opponent's running game NOT work yields good stuff.

Remember, Gibbs came from Air Coryell. He tried to implement that system here. We out gained in yards, buy lost games. Midway through the year, he changed his O. The rest is history. More coaches should learn from him.

It's not really anything special - it's just basic - be able to run the ball and be able to stop the other team's run game
that is nothing more than just a good formula for success on "any given Sunday ..." just amazing what you can do ...

Not to get too excited but we're leading the league in rushing and total defense.
