Good question, who's #2?? Can't see us dressing 3 QB's on Sunday.

if it were up to Jay and Scot, they'd make the right decision based on what is best for the offense

after what has happened here recently, I would not be surprised to see him on the roster for a few weeks because of Bruce & Dan

Its not necessarily about what's best for the offense. The GM might well decide its a better move to hang on to him for a while and see if they get any trade offers.

i wouldn't let him near a football .... he gets hurt there goes 16 million ..... not sure if a trade is possible at this point.

you're wrong about the 16M - most fans and knowledgeable NFL people agree that it is highly unlikely that a player can be injured badly enough that he cannot pass a physical by the following season - let's let that go for now, it's obviously vindictive ...

there is a chance that he could be traded - a lot of things would have to be done in order for another franchise to want to do that but it is possible - Scot and Jay know his value and what he offers to them going forward - they are the best ones to make the decision on what to do

however, it seems obvious that Scot has 'negotiated' something with Bruce and Dan - so we'll have to wait and see

I think that Griffin remains on the roster for now but I'd be very surprised if he's the #2 - IMHO - Dan and Bruce are NOT making that decision

the "side show" that you refer to is only for the media and the fans - the players and coaches are not in the slightest bit affected by RG3 staying here - some of the players and coaches actually think that the offense can benefit from having Griffin around

Griffin value to the franchise is best determined by Jay and Scot - I think that he stays for now unless some franchise makes a good offer

Maybe. But I think its true that Griffin couldn't be waived or traded until after he'd passed the concussion protocol either way, yeah?

no way they could do anything - now we have to wait and see how big a role Scot has here ...

not saying it bothers the team but as a fan the circus routine has grown old ..... don't you agree ??

And if the fans continue to think of the Redskins as a circus, more and more will bail out. To be honest, if the fans have a problem with the mis- management of the team , the Redskins have a problem by default. It is not just about what the coaches think.

If Scot and Jay are running the show they wait an decent interval and than activate someone useful from the practice squad who can contribute and release Griffin to find his future in Arena football or the CFL. Time to dump the drama queen.

After what happened here recently, I'm not convinced that Snyder & Allen are letting Scot and Jay have full authority over the roster

I'd like to think that the coaches have the final say over who plays and who stays with input of course from Scot and the FO

I can understand that a number of anti Griffin fans and media might want Griffin to be traded or just let go but I hope that the FO and the coaches will be able to make the best call for the franchise without 'input' from above - we shall see

my hunch is that McCoy is the backup and Griffin is inactive this week

The expiration date must have been about to expire on that 'concussion' diagnoses.

Maybe the Skins ought to organize some sort of 12 step support group for the Griffin fans to help them reconnect with reality post Griffin. Who knows Snyder might be even be able to turn a buck on it by spinning it up a reality series for NetFlix.

In the episodes they could visit different Griffin shrines in the homes of the faithful and give them an opportunity to emote about the ecstasy and agonies of their RGIII experience. I am just spitballing now but maybe the series could build over many weeks to a climatic mass revival along the banks of the Potomac.

There would be mass wailing and renting of clothing followed by burning the hated Shannahan's in effigy for the assembled who would be called on to release their grief in the form of the steaming embers into the Potomac to flow out to sea. Those so inspired could wade into the healing waters to cleanse their spirits and renew their hope.

NFL Media's Jeff Darlington reports that Colt McCoy will be listed as the Redskins' No. 2 quarterback tomorrow behind starter Kirk Cousins, per a team source.

So, that answers that question, for anyone who was asking.

McCoy #2 is the obvious decision. Colt and Kirk can both execute the offense no sense wasting 3 active roster spots for quarterbacks especially since #3 can't run the offense. Time to release Griffin and donate the remaining stock of #10 jerseys to charity.

Earlier SJ says in the Snicker -- RGIII not going anywhere thread:

SkinsJock wrote:there are certain posters here that will embellish and exaggerate - if it's not a fact don't try and make it one

Now, he goes on to state:

SkinsJock wrote:you're wrong about the 16M - most fans and knowledgeable NFL people agree that it is highly unlikely that a player can be injured badly enough that he cannot pass a physical by the following season - let's let that go for now, it's obviously vindictive ...

When RGIII tore up his knee, that would have been a situation where he would have been deemed out the next year. If he gets 1 single more concussion (and he's gotten one twice in the past 3 years), that would place him in the 3+ category which CAN place a player in a "career ending" position depending on the metrics. Tons of injuries you probably don't even know about could do this. A good friend who played in the NFL was deemed out for a FULL calendar year due to lisfranc --- and when he got traded, he FAILED his physical......

The fact you reference "fans" and "NFL people" shows you don't understand that this would be a MEDICAL decision. The only opinion in these situations that matters is a doctors.

Absolutely and Scot's favorite reporter should get a lot of FaceTime too. Dan knows how to turn a buck he should be all over it. I want creator credit if they go forward.....:-)

it has been stated many times that there is only a very small chance that a player could be so badly injured that he could not pass a physical before next season - that is NOT my opinion - that is what many NFL people who don't have a gripe against Griffin have stated

GET OVER THE OBVIOUS BIAS ...
