So far the cuts are Reggie Bell, DJ Williams, Austin Reiter, and others.
What's your biggest surprise ?
And ......anyone know the average pay rate for injury release? Just curious.

I heard Bates (? #45 Defense) is out, but maybe to the practice squad. The running back Wlliams is out or is that a different Williams - #25 maybe? What about Jeffcoat, did he make it?

The only surprises to me are:
1) Everett making it, though this may be only 1 week till Breeland is back.
2) Keeping 10 OL's including Nsekhe who is basically a 29 yr old rookie.
3) Only 2 TE's. I think Reed's (lack of) durability mandates 3.

What is the relationship to the practice squad, are they entirely seperate from the 53? They don't seem to be able to shuffle between them, right?
I thought Bates played super good, I thought he and Jeffcoat really put on a show at times. Is there a reason why they couldn't keep both or as a courtesy they release to allow the player to go to another team?

I'm pretty sure Tom Compton will be getting some reps at TE this year. But Reed's durability definitely makes you scratch your head as to why they only went with 2 TE's.

It would be an awful strategy to play your primary backup swing tackle out of position. What they actually did was a better solution, although I feel for Deshazor Everette.

John Keim ESPN Staff Writer

The Redskins signed tight end Anthony McCoy and released cornerback Deshazor Everett. McCoy was a sixth-round pick by Seattle in 2010. The Redskins now have three tight ends on the roster plus tackle Tom Compton.

This also means another DB is out once Breeland returns from suspension.

Or we could cut an OL. 10 is a lot.

Any practice squad player can be taken by any team, as long as they add them to their 53 man roster.

Do we have an official depth chart yet? What I saw wasn't in any particular order.. unless AlMo has already been leapfrogged by Jones...??

I just read this years depth chart to find Brandon Meriweather is now a Giant! I missed that whole transaction, what was the FO thinking? How on earth did they think they were improving the Redskins by letting Meriweather go to the Giaants? You have got to be kidding me.

It's not like we traded him to them. We didn't re-sign him, and he just went where he wanted.

Besides... He'll be suspended, injured, or both, soon enough.

Are we really lamenting the fact that Brandon Merriweather is a Giant now? Good grief.

No. We are not. Meriweather couldn't cover a baby in a crib with a blanket.

If he plays 16 games for the Gints, that'll mean he'd have been with them for four years. Not going to miss him here at all.

He was a piece of work, I agree. He needed really good coaching, he was probowl caliber talent that can change a game - just ask any Cowboy fan the last time we played them. They don't want any more of Meriweather. I think his injuries were from overly aggressive, ill-advised play. If coached properly to focus and channel his efforts he'd have more play time. That is a big 'if'. For all his faults I wish he were here for this season.
