Good deal! I think he deserve it, he has been healthy and makes plays. I still question if he is a #1 Pass rusher and how he would fair against left tackles but oh well, this pretty much seals the deal that Murphy or Preston Smith better be good picks.

Glad to see him extended. I'm not sure what to make of the contract yet, but at first glance it doesn't look like we went overboard.

With a better Murphy or Smith on the opposite side and a much improved DL and DBs, he should duplicate his 14.5 sacks!! Maybe more!

Always good to see a good guy get his due (and cash).

Kerrigan is the 3rd highest paid OLB in today's NFL.
5 years $57.5 million with $16 million signing bonus. Help me understand.......so the bonus is cash upfront, right? That's beyond the contract?

Good on you Ryan, Good on you...!!!

So awesome and well deserved. Our first first round pick to sign a new deal since CHRIS SAMUELS.

Hopefully Trent is good to go and up next. Take care of the guys who deserve it!

Kerrigan no doubt deserved it. Gruden was praising him during a presser yesterday saying he shows up, causes no problems, and does his job. And they wanted to reward him for that. It shows incentive for the younger guys to do the same. Glad we locked him up.

Good on you Ryan, Good on you...!!!

It still counts against the cap, but it's spread out over the life of the contract. So, 16/5 = 3.2 mil per year against the cap.

Part of the contract. After the $16 M bonus there is $41.5 M to spread over 5 years in the form of salary. That's about $8.3 M per year in salary as well ... on average. Maybe the $24 M guaranteed is the bonus + the first year. I saw it called (Roto) a 6 year deal for $64 M which included the upcoming year. :hmm:

7/29/2015: Signed a six-year, $64.538 million contract. The deal contains $24.28 million guaranteed, including a $16 million signing bonus. 2015: $7.038 million, 2016-2020: Under Contract, 2021: Free Agent

WOW. That is an INSANE fact. CS was drafted over 15 years ago!!!! Just shows how horrendously this organization has been run over that time. Only 1 common denominator since 1999......

In terms of the actual subject -- that is great for us. Kerrigan is the heart of our D. He is funny to boot. Did anyone ever see that "man on the street" vidoe of Ryan interviewing fans. It was hilarious.
