Let's compare the numbers:
Bradford - 4 seasons - 58 percent passer - 11,065 yards - 59 touchdowns - 38 interceptions - 18 fumbles - 79.3 QBR
RG3 - 3 seasons - 64 percent passer - 8,097 yards - 40 touchdowns - 23 interceptions - 14 fumbles - 90.6 QBR
Where Bradford has missed two seasons with knee injuries, Griffin suffered one traumatic knee injury and a dislocated ankle. Both QBs can move, though Griffin is clearly the superior runner. In three seasons RG3 has gained nearly 1,500 rush yards to go with eight TDs (but also 18 fumbles). In four seasons, Bradford has hardly amassed 250 rush yards to go with two TDs and eight fumbles.
Ive been trying to find where I read this... but saw an article talking about how the Rams and Eagles were both offered a mid 1st round pick for Bradford.... then put Bradfords career stats next to RG3 (Roberts were better in almost every category) and posed the question... if Bradford is worth that, then wouldnt RG3 be worth atleast that?
So, if we were offered say a mid 1st round pick and say a 5th or 6th rounder, should we take it? Would we?
I would say we would be dumb not to. Odds are RG3 is on his way out. Either he plays bad, and we dont re-sign him. Or he plays good, he ends this year as a FA, and has the option of either accepting an extension from a team that has been a rollercoaster ride (us) or test the open market and either drive our price up, or go to the highest bidder, which wont be us.
So, why keep someone who will likely not be on the team next year and get nothing for him, when we could get a 1st round pick to get more pieces of the puzzle now, let Kirk or someone else take the reigns for a year, and find our long term solution next year (or even in the mid to late rounds this year) We could make out big between that, and hopefully trading down out of 5th.
