I doubt it. One of them is 29 and coming off an Arena League career. Both will get their chance, but it's a safe default assumption that players like these are camp fodder.

If they are healthy and strong, then they can/will contribute. Injuries are the big concern.
Let's remember a now great ex-player from the Arena..........he goes by the name of Warner?

Jock, don't be silly. You get my point. I'm grouping all of Arena.

Sure. And the Patriots picked up Tom Brady in the 6th round of the NFL draft, but I don't hold my breath each time we draft someone with our 6th-round pick. The fact that there is such a thing as the greatest draft steal of all time, or the greatest signing from the Arena League of all time, doesn't give me much reason to suppose that we just found a pro bowler.

Warner was clearly the exception... And, even then, required additional seasoning in NFL Europe.
Is it "POSSIBLE"? Yes. Like winning the Powerball jackpot is.
This is a pure camp fodder move. Wouldn't object to a feel good ending, but, come on, Tribe. This is nothing more than "OBTW"

sorry Tribe - I just don't think these guys are anything more than players we need for now ...
be great if they can be here and I'm sure they'll be fired up, but ... not happening

I hope the Skins use top picks and top FA money to improve OL and defense.

Agree... that, alone, will improve all of our quartebacks... though, we seriously need help on the D line, as well.

Here's a question for you. Which QB do you think benefits more from an improved offensive line? Cousins or Griffin?

my answer would be Cousins ...
If Griffin does not improve his ability to stay in the pocket and see what is happening defensively (recognizing who is open) it will not matter how much better the O line is - he will not be here in 2017 when the O line is starting to gel
An improved O line benefits the whole offense, not just the play of the QB - if Griffin does not show incredible progress from where he was and Cousins does not learn to stop turning the ball over - improved O line play really means little to them being the starting QB here

Definitely Griffin. His tendency to not keep his eyes downfield and take off running too quickly, stems from the poor protection he's gotten in the past. I'm not sure how long it will take him to trust an upgraded OL, though. He may not be given that long of an opportunity. Cousins can get rid of the ball much quicker if need be, so the OL upgrade would be more of a luxury for him. It might help him cut down on the INTs, though.

I think Griffin. Most of Cousin's picks were not the result of pressure... There was another issue of not seeing the defensive play developing... That's not to say it wouldn't help him.
Griffin, on the other hand, gains lots with the addition of two or three seconds of unharrased time in the pocket, most notably the opportunity tovalidat what he perceives the defense doing. Currently he must think his way through his reads... With more time, he gets to complete this process... And, with each read, it becomes more "automatic", in the same way you and I learned to ride a bike, or drive a car, or troubleshoot a balky software application.

that's the thing - Griffin must show fairly quickly that he's worth working with ... there's a lot to be done there and while I'd like to see it happen, he's got to make a huge turnaround for these guys to make the commitment to stay with him
going to be an interesting few months here because I think that as early as possible they'd like to name either Cousins or Griffin #1 so that they can get 'ready' - the only way that does not happen is if Griffin shows some dramatic improvement over last season ... causing Jay, Matt and Scott to continue giving both QBs time to 'earn it'
giving both these QBs a much improved O line is not likely to happen here in the next 6 months ... although, as bad as the O line blocking was last season, any improvement is going to be a huge help to both the QBs and the offense

Meh... he was projected as a sure thing in the 2012 draft, but was signed as a FA by the 'skins.
The Colts pulled him from our practice squad, and, over 2 seasons he has played in only 8 games... so far, he has shown none of the stuff that caused the "experts" to consider him a sure thing.

I liked Nixon in the draft that year, but he was only projected as like a 6th or 7th round pick.
http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/ds ... &genpos=OThttp://www.nfl.com/draft/2013/profiles/ ... id=2539222Dude is 6'6" and 330 lbs. He's an UFA who managed to play in eight games and start in two in his first two years. I think he may have more playing experience than Spencer Long and LeRib combined! lol.
Anyway, I have no problem with them bringing him in to see what he can do.

My POINT was, I'm not getting excited about a FA (whom some predicted to go as high as the 4th round, proving that you can always find some expert who agrees with you), who plays one of the shallowest positions in the game (in terms of quality talent), but hasn't been able to hang.
I'd be thrilled to be wrong... But Joe Jacobys just don't grow on the waver wire.

Yeah I got your point and I don't mean to sound overly excited about a UFA either. If he actually makes the 53 man roster, I'll buy you a case of beer. Young guy with some potential though, I was glad to see him picked up by the Skins.

Based on his college performance, I had really expected him to be a steal... I don't know that his head has been in it. Maybe being cut will prove a wake-up... but I won't hold my breath. At any rate, there's no loss if he doesn't make it.
