Did you witness the whole soap opera this year?

I did not. But I have followed the printed media days after games with a sense of relief. As a result, I have spent much happier weekends with activities, family and friends, thank you very much.

NOT a cent to Daniel Snyder even watching TV, Sunday ticket, let alone buying any tickets or any paraphernalia from his marketing outfit.

Snyder's getting paid whether you or I watch the game or not. I watched every game this year right through the last minute v. the Cowboys. Its a looooooong offseason, and I relish every minute watching the team play regular season games whether we suck or not.

I was tempted to say all of the above to some extent.

I have heard the argument. But let us analyze it in more detail:

Yes, Snyder will be paid his share of TV ratings REGARDLESS of the ridicule put on the field any given season.

BUT the other side of the coin is:

1) No, the overall value of the franchise will go down if the fan base stops attending over-priced games and supporting at the Stadium (Washington currently stands as the 9th most expensive franchise in sports worlwide http://www.forbes.com/sites/kurtbadenha ... eams-2014/ );

2) As a consequence, some sponsors and advertisers may pull out or demand lower deals (as they also grow increasingly uncomfortable with the additional mismanagement of the name of the team by the stupid Snyder propaganda machine);

3) Sales of team paraphernalia and over-priced food and drinks go down;

4) players and the NFL lose value.

Worst thing a fan can do is to put money into Snyder's pockets. Just a matter of time before blind loyalty turns into downright anger as it has for some of us.

This is all true in terms of going to the games. I'm certainly not going to spend hundreds of dollars for the Fedex field "experience".

I kind of have to think Snyder is feeling it in the wallet a little bit with the stadium this year. Its looked half empty at most of these games, and there is no shortage of stories about people giving up their season tickets who have had them forever.

I voted loyalty. I don't care how they look, they're still my team and I'll continue to watch them.

Stadium sales are a small part of it. Most of the losses come from the devalued economic status of the franchise and its reduced capacity to attract sponsors and marketing deals.

Daniel Snyder has a BIG EGO. He hates to be ridiculed. Ridicule is a weapon the fans and media can and should use EXTENSIVELY.

I watched every game and selected "loyalty" as my reason, though perhaps some of the other labels also apply.

Snyder hasn't gotten a penny from me in years. I no longer buy officially sanctioned NFL gear of any kind because of that 1/32nd of that goes to him. Even Snyder could see that the stadium was half-empty or worse (in terms of Redskins fans) for most of our games. Hopefully someone alerted him that tickets were going for as little as $3 at one point.

I do believe that these pressures will eventually make their mark. We used to be one of the top 2 or 3 franchises in the world; by next year we probably won't even be in the top 10. That slide will continue.

But no, I just can't stop watching the 'Skins. Can't do it.

I watched every game until the season got to somewhere around the 2/3 or 3/4 point, then I just started watching other games...it's no fun watching when you know the outcome is gonna be bad...

I had to work every single day a football game was going on. So I glady missed all of the season. But I kept track on my phone, websites and such.

Needless to say RG3s ego has become bigger then his game. He has to humble himself. We need an Oline and we need RG3 to become what he is supposed to become. The answer is through RG3 leading this team. It is a must.

I get all the econ stuff. Have not attended a game since we knocked Dallas out and won the division.

Watched every play this year until we benched McCoy after the win in Dallas and went with Griff at the Vikings. Watched that whole game but only bits and pieces since then.

Will start watching next year out of a combo of loyalty and curiosity. Will take it a week at a time.

May attend a game w/ free tickets. Had one offer this year and said no thanks.

I watched all the games on tv, but this is the first time in over 10 years that I haven't been to a single game. Also didn't buy any team merchandise. Watching the games was a combination of habit, fandom, and curiosity to see what new type of nonsense the franchise could come up with. But I can say that as the season went on I cared less about the outcome of the games - I was watching for entertainment but my expectations were so low that I didn't get upset about the losses. To sum it up, Snyder is basically turning hardcore, lifelong fans into apathetic fans.

Like a train wreck...couldn't look away!! I went to three games this years, paid a total of 1 ticket for all three games.

The QB rotations gave me a reason to watch. I was excited when Cousins got a shot early in the year and for a while was hopeful we'd at long last found our QB before I imploded once too often and than McCoy gave me a reason to watch. I missed a one of Griffin's starts to play golf but the weather got cold so I watched the others.

This is an interesting Poll and the results are amazing ... considering that the vast majority of posters who stopped watching the soap opera ALSO have left this board and most are not around to vote.

We used to have tens of votes in each category in older Polls. We are lucky to get to 10 in each category now. That speaks louder to me than anything else. It is getting lonely and cold out here.

Hey folks. Haven't been around for a while, because I've chosen to spend the rest of my life living in the late 80s. It's great here - come and join me! We've got a great owner (although he's a bit of a loon), and this head coach is something else. Looks like a school teacher, but he certainly gets the team ready to play, every week. And the general manager just keeps on drafting gems. We've just won the Superbowl again - I'll never get bored of this

Also, we don't have much of an internet here, so I don't have to read about "knowing my why", or read anything by Sally Jenkins.

I can thoroughly recommend it. The music is ten times better as well

I honestly stopped going to the bars to watch the games at the bye week. If it were as easy as turning on the tv and watching, I'd probably have watched all the games. Then again, watching the product actually made me sick. Everyone can be all rah rah about the new GM and other changes (which we seem to have every year), but last season was the most disfunctional I have seen in my life --- from the players to the coaches to the FO to the owner.

At that point (post-bye week), I didn't see the product as being worth my time or money. I actually had the opportunity to go to both the PHI and DAL games for free (which is the only way I'll go) while I was in town, but passed. I'm not often in DC and didn't want to, again, waste my time. I felt like everyone I knew was trying to get rid of those tix. I haven't purchased "officially licensed" skins merchandise in well over a decade (I was one of the first to full-on hate Danny boy and identify him as the man who would destroy the franchise) or otherwise given $1 to this franchise. Initially people on here said I was not a "true fan" for doing this, but many have come around......

But caneskins26 said it best --- I consider myself a hardcore fan, but this season was the first where I became apathetic.

Same here. The only reason I missed any games is because I was working. Even then I followed on the internet and text updates from mates. When I was able to watch I did. Heck I even went to the Tampa Bay game.
