we have a thread about the O line - we can discuss the defensive needs here ...
I agree that we'd like to trade down but either a D lineman or the Safety Collins out of Alabama would be good here too

The defensive backfield is bad we need to add a top cb and safety in my opinion.

Our problem on defense is not the D Line. We have an above average front 7. We desperately need help in the secondary, particularly at safety. Our schemes are also horrendous. I wouldn't hire Haslett to coach a high school team at this point. I would love if we brought in Rex Ryan and he possibly convinced Revis to come along with him, and then we snag a top safety in with one of our first 2 picks.

Rex is good (I wouldn't mind Wade Phillips either), but Revis is WAY too old at 29 (since he is a CB) and will be WAY too expensive. We need to move against the skins MO and grabbing twilight-type players. We need to DRAFT young, talented players. I think we need an upgrade at 1 DE position, 1 CB, and both safeties; on top of creating depth. I understand we can't get everyone in one draft, but that should be the focus.
However, a new DC won't magically solve our problems (although I agree that Haslett reallly has to go). We need talent first.

While I understand what you're saying about Revis' age, he has regained his spot as one of the top 3 CBs in the game. He would also be very expensive, but he would be a drastic improvement to our secondary.
