I don't know if you watched the latest Jay Cutler fiasco last night, but it just reminded me of this recent interview with Vinny Cerrato bragging in his completely self unaware way about how he nearly brought Cutler here for Snyder. If you're feeling down about the team, this is SO worth reading. We might still have some of the same issues (namely: Snyder, Dan), but things could be so much worse.
Vinny Cerrato Explains How Skins’ 2009 Trade Talks for Jay Cutler Fell Throughhttp://washington.cbslocal.com/2014/09/ ... l-through/“I get a call like 11:30 at night, it was [then Broncos head coach] Josh McDaniels,” Cerrato went on. “And he says, ‘We’re ready to do this.’ I says, ‘What do you want?’ It was like three ones and a two. And I said, ‘Is that it?’ I said, ‘That’s all you want, three ones and a two?’ It was like Draft Day, the movie, you know? And he wanted three ones, a two and Jason Campbell. So then I called Dan — it was like 11:30 — I said, ‘Dan, game on.'”
"That's all you want? Three ones and a two?" lol. FREAKING VINNY!!!!!
I think this is still Hog Wash, but apologies if I'm posting this in the wrong forum.

Maybe if they included Brandon Marshall.

OMG. I thought it couldn't be worse than the Chad Johnson story, but I was wrong.

I can't believe the Broncos weren't all over that. Maybe that's what got McDaniels fired.

I happened to hear Vinny recounting this story on the radio at some point. Its funny how he tells it like it was this amazing deal he and Dan had almost brokered.
Yeah Deadskins, I can't recall what happened exactly that the deal didn't happen. It seems like the Broncos should have jumped on that and spent the next four years laughing every time April rolled around.

Unfortunately, big ticket trades were probably as close as Vinnie got to a true sexual encounter.
Just sayin.

On the other hand, maybe we now know why Danny had such a hard time saying goodbye to Vinnie ...

Dan always wanted a "franchise QB" says Cerrato. Seems likely. Foolish, but consistent with everything Snyder has done. Consistent with George Preston Marshall. While the Giants and Browns were gathering linemen (Giants picked up Dick Modjelewski from the Redskins), GPM was busy drafting running backs and quarterbacks.
