Is it time to start looking for a QB in the next draft?

Marriota and Winston are the two most talk about.....but I really think winston is better....and the media is just overblowing his issue.
Trade rg3 to the raiders ....cousins to the titans....start this over.

Absolutely not. It is way too early to blow this whole thing up. What is it with the NFL these days?? We rush these kids into a starting QB job, which is the toughest job in sports, and then we pull the plug quicker then ever now. Keep our QBs, Draft secondary and O & D Linemen.

Does anybody really believe that Jameis Winston's biggest issue is "the media"?
I understand your question and why you're asking it. We have to quit thinking we're going to draft (or buy or trade for) our franchise QB and that's going to solve all of our problems. I want to see our next three first round picks used on the offensive line. Figure out if we're going to roll with RGIII or Cousins for the next several years and focus on beefing up the team around them with quality players.

NO - it's way too early to waste time 'looking' at this

The QB position is the most important position.....i think all these winston media coverage is due to racism....
if we can get in a good position to draft winston i say go for him...and start over......other positions can be assessed later in the draft

Drafting a QB out of Baylor may have been the right idea...just three years too early.

There are like three pages of responses to the "Speedy Gun Gordon" thread. The least we could do is over five or six NOs and at least one STFU here.

I would much rather have an early draft pick on the D-back position and o-line 2nd round. Of course, it depends on value.

I take that back, lets have a high 1st round pick on a WIDE RELIEVER! The qb needs more weapons! lol.

Racism? Not a Heisman trophy winner accused of sexual assault? Or screaming obscenities on campus? Yeah you're right it's racism. Also must be a racist motive behind the constant media coverage of Manziel, too.

Yes, the Big R is out there more than a lot of people are comfortable admitting (yes, it is). Yes, there are those (in the media, too) who don't like Winston because he's black. No, the heat he is taking for his ATROCIOUS decision making has nothing to do with racism. I'm even giving a pass to those using that ATROCIOUS behavior as a cover for their racism. Why? Because, you simply do not:
1. Beat an allegation of rape that was so bungled by campus/local police, their decision not to press charges actually makes it worse for you than better
2. Steal (I don't care if your story is you forgot you hadn't paid for them. Remember!) $30 some odd dollars of crab legs from a grocer
3. Jump on a table in the middle of the student union and shout "[4 letter word for have relations] her right in the [word for cat]" in front of many, many people (and their cell phone recording devices) and
4. Lie to your damn coaching staff about it ALL WHILE:
5. Being the most recognizable face on a college campus, hell in an entire town with its own heightened scrutiny outside of all of the above.
Sorry, there's no amount of heat he's getting that isn't 100% justified. There's no way to spin all of that, collectively. He is a moron. A moron with more than questionable decision making processes. He has made it impossible to point to any ulterior motive for how he's being talked about at this point.

I think we should target this kid I keep hearing about named Speedy Gun Gordon!
No, but seriously, I think QB is the last position that needs to be addressed in the draft. We need O-Line depth, and we need physical, ball-hawking DBs. Those would be at the top of my list.

Draft OL and DL. In spite of rule changes to allow more passing, the line is still the engine of both the offense and defense. Joe Gibbs explained that in the '80s. Defensive pressure still shatters passing; a good offensive line gives a QB time to throw...and lets a running back hammer defenders.

Yup. It was the reason why the Redskins were able to win three Super Bowls with three different QBs, and three different running backs. It was all because the offensive line, the Hogs, were physically dominant and were able to make anyone look good playing behind them. The old saying is "football starts in the trenches," and it's always held true even to this day.

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospectrankingsOkay, can we comfortably agree that we will have at least top 7 pick? Based off these early projections I'd choose an OT in the first round, second round I'd pick 3-4 DT McCarthy. The guard position 3rd or 4th round and cornerback looks really deep. Safety isn't as deep, maybe get a young safety in FA

I cannot agree with that - I think we may be a top 15 but not a top 10
this is really stupid with 12 games to go

True. Time will tell, sports don't work based off predictions.

+1 - I think they will do this - the biggest key is to have good linemen and be deep along both lines - having great secondaries and receivers ONLY works with good lines
that is why that free agency BS was so hurtful to our progress
AND - building an O line takes a lot of time - the pukes have 3 first rounders on their O line - by the time we get the players we need TW will be getting ready to retire

Yes. Yes. Yes. Rarely do I see posters so on page with me as to needs and when to get them.
IMHO, get a top RT with our #1, then in the 2nd draft either a DL or DB --- best available. Also agree there will be talent at the OG position in the 3rd. Typically impact-player RT/LT and DE quality are gone by the 3rd. If we were to get any position via FA, I would agree on Safety.
That being said: DON'T TRADE AWAY DRAFT PICKS!!!!!!!!
As far as the QB issue presented: NO. End of discussion.
And the racism thing:

No, I think it would be foolish to draft another QB because Cousins may develop. I am convinced Griffin is a ridiculous bust that isn't worth keeping but but Kirk is mentally quick and might develop into a good. Maybe he won't but It would be smart to give him at least another season and focus on the defense. I think the Skins should concentrate on improving the secondary that is awful, really pathetic. Use the 1st, 2nd and third picks to bolster the pass defense.
