Good Day Everyone,

As we approach our 6th season of THN Fantasy Football, I just wanted to recognize a few of our champions.
Our first year in '09, I was lucky enough to win the first Hog Bowl (a name I proudly came up with). In '10 my buddy Cappster was able to take the trophy from me. Darthmonk, who is the current champ has won twice in both '11 and '13. Finally in '12, the trophy went to Deadskins (his name isn't what you think by the way..LOL).

This league was formed with permission given by Boss Hog himself with the only rule that it be a free league and to this day it is ran that way. As commish, I try to get feedback from the managers and am open to recommendations or criticism. However, there are a few things that I have learned to say no to such as my friend Darthmonk's constant need to change our field goal scoring or my pal Deadskins' desire for me to change some kind of scoring for something else that by now I don't even remember what it was initially...LOL.

This is what our league is comprised of..
-We maintain a 14 team league every year
-We use PPR (points per reception)
-We include IDPs (individual defensive players)
-Our bench is a low number of only 5 players
-While post-draft players are free agents, any dropped players from a team will go to waivers for one day
-There is a 5 move limit per week
-Only 2 trades allowed for entire season
-Kickoff/punt/defensive return yards earn you points

Our rosters are..
QB, RB (2), WR (2), TE, W/R/T, DEF, DB (2), LB (2), D (IDP Flex), Bench (5)
(Warning- Paying attention to bye weeks are essential with a low bench)

Scoring is as follows..
Passing- 20 yards per point; .5 points @ 300 yards, .5 points @ 350 yards, 1 point @ 400 yards
Interceptions are -1 and sacks are -.5
Pick sixes thrown are -2
40+ yard passing touchdown is a bonus of .5 points
Rushing & Receptions- 10 yards per point; .5 points @ 100 yards, .5 @ 150 yards, 1 point @ 200 yards, .5 points per reception
Fumbles lost are -1
40+ yard reception touchdown is a bonus of .5 points
40+ yard rushing touchdown is a bonus of 1 point
Return yards (Kickoff, punt, defensive)- 20 yards per point; .5 points @ 100 yards, .5 points @ 200 yards, 1 point @ 300 yards
IDPs- Tackle= 1 point, Tackle assist= .5 points, Sacks= 2 points, Interception= 2 points, Force fumble= 1 point, Fumble recovery= .5 points, Safety= 2 points, Pass defended= 1 point, Block kick= 2 points, Tackle for loss yards= .5, Turnover return yards= 20 yards per point
Defensive scoring- Sack= 2 points, Interception= 2 points, Fumble recovery= 1 point, Safety= 2 points, Block Kick= 1 point
Defense points allowed- 0 points earn 20 (at start of game this is the amount your defense will start with), 1-6 points= 15 points, 7-13= 10 points, 14-20 points= 5 points, 21-27 points= 0 points, 28-34 points= -5 points, 35+ points= -10 points
Field goal scoring- 0-39 yards= 3 points, 40-49 yards= 3.5 points, 50+ yards= 4 points, Point after touchdown= 1 point
Field goal misses- 0-39 yards= -3, 40-49 yards= -2, 50+ yards= -1, Point after touchdown= -1
2 Point Conversions- are 2 points for the player who scored it
ALL TOUCHDOWNS REGARDLESS OF HOW SCORED ARE 6 POINTS

Draft information..
Draft is scheduled for Saturday 8/30 @ 9pm. You will have 1 minute to make your selection and we use the Yahoo platform. I recommend you test it to make sure yours works properly prior to the draft. Currently we have 10 members who have joined and I'm still waiting for the last 4 to respond. Those 4 people will have until 7/31 and WILL BE DELETED from the league and will need to go through the process of having me email them a new invite (this must be done to ensure the 4 slots are opened for new members to join). If you would like to give me your email address now, please send me a private message and I will keep it until 8/1 in which I will then mail out the invites.

My main complaint is that the defensive scoring should be higher, especially for turnovers (forced fumbles, INTs, Fumble Recoveries) and other game changing plays, where the top players might have only 10 all season. But I also agree that the FG scoring is all screwed up.

It goes to say when someone exceeds expectations, that person should be praised for their accomplishments.

With that said.. I just wanted to show some of you what we have been dealing with here. It just happened right under our noses and we didn't have a clue. I feel like those guys on White Man Can't Jump when you realize that White Man got some serious skills and he just bust your tail.

Coincidence he won Hognistications and the Hog Bowls the same years? Check out what I found out about the champ... In 2011 he won THN's Hognistications, came 1st twice in two fantasy football leagues and came 3rd place in another league. After that year he came in 3rd place here but 1st place in a Survival and we all know last here for '13 he is our current champ. What you didn't know is last year he also came 1st in a Survival and also won Hognistications too!

Don't believe me, just take a look.. see his level, damn jerk is pretty much a pro, look at the bar..

I hope you all have been studying and getting prepared because there are no do-overs. The only way we will schedule a re-draft is if Yahoo crashes or multiple people can not get access, keep that in mind.

Please, check your browsers to make sure everything is good to go by logging into Yahoo, go to the league page, and click on "Test System" (or something like that). Also, you have the option of drafting from your cell phone with the Yahoo Fantasy App. I've done this already and it works great and I didn't have any issues.

Feel free to hit me up if you have any questions or concerns.

FYI.. we have 14 people in the league and it has been finalized. I think Darth may have been when he made his post.

Holy crap! Good thing I checked in today. I had no idea the draft was tonight. I'd better do some prep.

Well DM, you know as well as I do that doesn't mean jack spit but I hope I did good enough to finally be a contender again.

Was a lil disgruntled with the draft turnout but life's priorities have a way of sneakin up on people so I understand.

I dunno if im more mad about Colin crapperdic being my starter or having a puke on my team....
either way im pretty disappointed w how it went down.. scheduled a different draft aroun the previous date- where and when was notification sent?

Kewl. Of course, Yahoo's predictions always prove to be crap, especially when it comes to IDPs, so pardon me if I take that with a grain of salt.

Thats what I get for assuming format or something instead of draft DATE.
thanks tho... Not the first time Ive missed the draft- just really wanted to make it and be competitive this year.

Lesson learned, I'll keep an eye on the Yahoo board more closely next time.
- I've been checking the OP of this thread to confirm the date and time, so maybe edit the OP in the future for a better draft turnout LPJ...
I know you do a lot to make this possible and asking more of you isnt cool... figured editing the OP would be easier then sending pms to everyone.

Lastly im terribly sorry to everyone that made it and had to wait for me to take the full clock. Thats worse then my jacked up squad and I feel like a jerk. My bad.
