Yeah, I know. Sally. Nevertheless ...
Report: RG3 bragged that he had influence over franchise's directionExcerpt:
"Behind closed doors, Griffin had fierce finger-pointing tensions with his wide receivers, and he bragged to teammates that he could procure favors from the owner and influence the franchise's direction."

IF there's any truth to this report then we are screwed as a fanbase.

Have any players come out in support of RG3 and debunked some of the rumors about his behavior?

using the word 'news' in reference to anything from this hag is hilarious
RG3 has hopefully learned some things from this past season:
he needs to work very hard at becoming a better QB and he needs to have no contact with Dan Snyder during the season
The team comes first and he is undermining his coaches and his team mates if he has any relationship with this clueless little twit that owns our franchise
I would have no problem with RG3 meeting the finalists for both the HC and the OC job as he is an integral part of the offense
to even imply that he has any real 'input' into who gets hired here is stupid
btw - did the hag give sources or did she leave that 'open' - I have not read the article - I will not waste my time - I'm just giving my opinion

Yep. Just in my car, I noted both broadcasts on 106.7 and ESPN 980 were completely dismissive of this "report". And neither of those broadcasts would I describe as RGIII defenders/apologists.
I thought Grant Paulsen put it best saying that Sally Jenkins is never around Redskins park, has not been to a practice all season, has never even met or talked to Robert, has no player sources on the team that he is aware of, and only attended two games all season in week 15 and 16.

Heh. I love ol' Paulsen. Good guy.
It's true that if these rumors are true, then it means bad things for us. But they go against every other public and private anecdote we've ever seen regarding Robert, so shouldn't our standards for accepting something like this be pretty high? I think he's earned the benefit of the doubt for cases like these. (Another one comes to mind: remember when that girl claimed he was sending her pics on his wedding night?)

You're just one of the sheep that has swallowed this braggart's narrative! Just because you, every other idiot redskin fan, Grant Paulsen, Dan Snyder, Mike Shanahan, Bruce Allen, every person at Baylor, most personnel people in the NFL involved in the draft 2 years ago, and every African American (that's for you OldSchool) have drunk the kool aid (that one, too!) doesn't mean Sally "axe to grind" Jenkins isn't right! Wake up and realize that your team mortgaged its future for this punk. Ha Ha loser deadskins! You suck!

She makes some really big leaps of logic - Washington Post article - No wonder backup Kirk Cousins said last week he believes Griffin will have a major say who becomes the new head coach. āIām sure Mr. Snyder and Robert and those people will have a lot of input as to who the hire is,ā Cousins said to reporters last week as he and his teammates cleaned out their lockers at Redskins Park.
The team promptly issued a statement denying that Griffin will be consulted on coaching candidates. Which by itself was strange and signaled oversensitivity."
Like Skins said earlier this is a total waste of your time. No need to read it

Well, they did just vote him the Ed Block Courage Award. That's not a statement that directly addresses the latest rumors, but neither can we expect them to respond to every claim that surfaces.

They discussed this column on Post Sports Live, and even these guys (who aren't afraid to embrace some controversy) distance themselves from the specific rumors. Lavar was the most bearish on RGIII but basically says that it was the coaches and PR people who have screwed up. No one seems to think he's the diva portrayed in the article.
Mike Wise goes so far as to say that he finds her claims "ridiculous" based on his own interviews with players.

You guys are working so hard not to notice Griffin's narcissism. I have no idea if this report is fair and
accurate but the behavior in this article seems consistent with the public behavior we have all seen.

Eric Fingerhut, who seems to have a Washington Post sports blog, rips the Jenkins article to tiny pieces. Just on the evidence, which is lacking, and on Jenkins' misreading quotes, which she does frequently:
http://thefingerman.blogspot.com/2014/0 ... sally.htmlMy conclusions:
- I distrust Snyder
- Robert Griffin is no more an egotist than any other professional athlete
- Best to ignore all of the off-season articles about the Redskins and focus on the Nats. Pitchers and catchers report in mid-February. There will be no serious Redskin news until they sign a coach, then sign some free-agents, and then draft some youngsters.

I don't want to believe this article, but there has to be some truth to the relationship with Snyder.

Was this suppose to be a distraction from the rumors on HC's?. I really didn't think anything of this but I have to agree with LeVar and what he has been saying all along and that is the Skins PR is a joke and there are serious issues. How long will it take the FO to get control of the walls at Redskins Park?.

I don't get her motives by writing this article, but there were murmurs of this behavior even before the 2012 season started. Not saying they're true, but the more you hear about it you start to wonder.
