ASHBURN, Va. -- Washington Redskins defensive end Stephen Bowen tore the posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, but that doesn’t mean he’ll miss Sunday’s game at the Denver Broncos.

Bowen hurt his knee in Sunday’s 45-41 win over the Chicago Bears. But he has a history of playing with such an injury. Bowen suffered a similar tear in his left knee in Week 12 of the 2011 season and didn’t miss any time (he recorded 1.5 of his six sacks after the injury). However, he needed arthroscopic surgery after the season.

Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said Bowen is sore and that they’d know more about his status in the next few days.

Meanwhile, safety Reed Doughty must undergo daily testing after suffering a concussion Sunday. And tight end Jordan Reed has a hip pointer, but he got a shot at halftime Sunday and returned. Shanahan said he expects the rookie to play Sunday.
Great!

But also, he can play on it, anyway?

I really hope Doughty is cleared on Sunday cuz we're gonna need him with Merriweather being suspended for 2 games.
