Mark Sanchez may have a serious shoulder injury.
Playing late in the 4th quarter, with players who are not likely to make the roster protecting him, and the Giants teeing off...

So, why was Mark Sanchez in the game at that point?

"That was something that I thought was important"
Rex Ryan

lol, did you see his press conference about not making a decision on a starting QB yet?

What an implosion. I mean, it's not like they were all that great before, but they are really cratering now...

It's part of a plan to make sure Sanchez won't play in the season

Yep. If he gets injured, that takes the decision out of Rex's hands.

I could only enjoy this complete meltdown of a situation more if he was a coach in the NFC East.

Dallas needs a new coach... Rex will be available soon...

A match made in heaven!

You know I just watched the press conference with Ryan, and I didn't think he had a melt down. I actually thought he did a good job of dealing with some inanely repetitive questions from the reporters. I could see some other coaches literally blowing up at the podium.

"I'm a man, and I'm 40"
"Playoffs!?, PLAYOFFS!!!???"
"They are who we thought they were. We played in the third game of the preseason . . . You wanna crown their a$$ then go ahead and crown, 'em"
"Tony Romo is our starting quarterback"

etc.

That Dennis Green blowup was classic, though, not an indication of him losing his mind.

Here is Chris Cooley's take on The Drive this afternoon - paraphrasing:

It was Smith's job to win and for 3 quarters he was underwhelming. Then Sanchez asked Ryan to put him in so he could win the job.

I too believed that was the plan. Wasn't so sure it was all Sanchez's idea.

It made sense in the warped mind of Ryan.

Put the kid out there, let him struggle a bit and then, when the 3rd and 4th stringers are out there, put in Sanchez so he looks amazing.

I'd bet he (Sanchez) was even wearing a cape in Rex's imagining...

It's perfect. Sanchez looks like the second coming of Joe Montana and Ryan looks like the genius...right up until Sanchez gets hurt...
