Washington Redskins v. pukes a bit early GAME THREAD

Ok, I cannot wait. I am counting the hours. What is a fan to do in the meantime? Wait until Sunday evening? NO! Let's start with the analysis of the prospect of the game.
1. In favour of the Pukes:
It is all about the pass
a) good play from a hot Romo - Bryant combination.
b) Miles Austin giving a good option if Dez is under double coverage
c) Maybe the return of D. Ware
2. Against the Pukes:
a) no run game
b) bad pass coverage, particularly in the center of the field
c) the threat of BLUNDERS by Romo.
3. In favour of the Redskins:
a) best run game in the NFL, thank you RG and Alfred
b) RGIII double or triple threat run or pass option.
c) fast open receivers
d) London Fletcher in charge of defense on the field
4. Against the Redskins:
a) questionable pass defense
b) Hall's poor tackling
c) inconsistent pass rush
d) a lingering RG injury which may hamper his run ability
INJURIES hurt BOTH teams. Redskins and Pukes are missing good players.
So, all in all, I predict a +300 yard pass games for BOTH teams but there are some differences:
a) Redskins have a strong run game, which will help control the clock and the TOP. I expect over 200 rush yards for the Skins. (Yes, +500 combined for us)
b) Haslett will come up with packages to disguise pressure on Romo but take care of the backfiled. I predict 3 sacks, 1 fumble and 1 INT for us.
c) We play at HOME.
We win the game 31 - 17 and the NFC East (OK, it might be closer but who cares? )

"We play at HOME". I think that will be the difference.
This Redskin team is not complete: injuries, and a few (next year) regular DB's are still in college.
Maybe not the SB this year, but headed that way. First stop is a win on Sunday.

Please GOD Redskins fans, show up to the game and don't sell your seats to Puke fans. We need home advantage like no other this week. Paint the stadium Burgundy not Silver & Blue.

They have learned how to win. That is no small thing.

Amazing, isn't it? Truly stunned at how fast this has happened.

Game could easily be a shootout. Dez scares me.

I think another consideration for this game is that the Cowboys may be a little bit more desperate than we are. They either win or they're done - that might not be the case for us. They also lost this same game last year. Not to mention Romo fighting the whole "can't get it done when it counts" tag.
I don't know how that will play out. They could show up wanting it more, or they could fold under the pressure.

No way they want it more. They may want it pretty badly, but there is no way they want it more than the skins.

Yep.
Plus, everyone will know by game time if we are in or not. To me it doesn't matter, we want to win the division and want to beat Dallas at home almost more then we want to win the superbowl. F Dallas.

On Showtime's "Inside The NFL" they debated Tony Romo's ability/responsibility in the Cowturds success. Now, I love when he implodes and throws a pick or two at the worst possible moment. However, I have to admit he is the one player that concerns me most on their team. Even though he will throw picks, he does plenty to keep that team in just about every game. I'm thankful the Cowturds brain trust isn't smart enough to build a better line and running game for that offense.
On another note, in the same show they showed a clip of a dejected Ryan Clark sitting disappointed on the ground after the Steelers lost. I couldn't help but think that had we kept Clark, we could have skipped picking Laron Landry -- leaving us to pick Adrian Peterson. Oh well. Shoulda coulda woulda. Thankfully we have a stronger front office now and Alfred Morris.

But still....

Because a fan never wants to believe another team wants it more than their team.

You're kidding right? The Skins have been on the bottom of the NFC East for four straight years, and haven't won a division title since 1999. Every year the media hypes Dallas and picks them to be great. They feel entitled, while we are hungry. No way they want it more.

Fan is short for fanatic which does not necessarily imply intelligence.

No I'm not kidding, Richard. What sounds like a freaking joke to you??? You're stating some sort of weird and not especially informed opinion like its a fact and then acting like I'm out of my mind. You have some direct line to Jesus or something to tell us who has more heart??
I don't actually know who "wants it more" and neither do you. We unfortunately have no way of measuring the heart of football players.
Who "wants it more" wasn't the point of my original post in the first place. I was asking if the Cowboys were maybe a little more desperate to win this game, and I pointed out a couple of actual reasons why they probably are: Romo is playing for his next contract. They lost this same game last year. Romo has been labelled the guy who can't win these big games. The fact that they were hyped going into the season while the Redskins were not.
My point was: I think all the pressure is on the Cowboys. Nobody expected us to be in this game.

Case in point.
Personally I visit this website to discuss Redskins football, not for a pep rally. But knock yourself out.
