Hey guys, I am a hardcore Redskins fan living in Minnesota.

Anyway, Rg3 has been cleared to play on sunday against the Eagles.

This is an article on this subject:

The Washington Redskins rookie had a full practice Thursday for the second straight day as the team prepares for this week's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

"I like what I see," coach Mike Shanahan said. "If there is no setback, he should be ready to go."

Griffin missed Sunday's win over the Cleveland Browns with a sprained right knee. On Wednesday, he had his first full practice since the injury, and coaches and doctors were eager to see how the knee would respond.

"There wasn't a setback today, so that's a good sign," Shanahan said.

That article is not saying he has been cleared by the doctors...

has there actually been any offical word from the team saying RG3 has been cleared by the team doctors? That is what deterims if he plays this sunday against the Eagles.. the Doctors will be make the final call

According to ESPN, he should play as long as there are no setbacks....

That's what I thought. I don't read that as "cleared to play". The position hasn't changed - the doctors will clear RGIII to play when they're happy, and Shanahan is simply reporting what he sees - RGIII is looking good, and hopefully there won't be any kind of reaction.

All the signs ARE positive, but let's not jump the starting pistol here.

Oh, and welcome to THN MNskinsfan :-)

The article, quotes, etc. still leave a LOT to be speculated --- which I'm sure is what MS wants.

Being "cleared to play" makes it appear that RGII has been "cleared" by the doctors, but doesn't state as much. It more eludes to the fact that MS has "cleared" RGIII to play because he "likes what he sees". MS, however, has always said that the decision is one of the doctors --- which, if actually true and not merely stated in an effort to be in accordance with NFLPA policies, then makes it appear that the doctors have cleared him, therefore the final step in the process is clearance from the HC.

MS then leaves in the "no setbacks" statements to leave some speculation as to what will happen. I personally would like to know what exactly is considered a "setback" or to what degree.

I just hope his is 100%. If he isn't, as I said last week, I would like KC to start and if he plays poorly then we can put in RGIII. At the same time, the DAL game may be HUGE and we dont' want RGIII to be rusty in his return.

My head is spinning.......

I've lived in several places, including Dal. & NY. It's always tough, but it's a LOT easier when we're winning!

So has he been cleared by the doctor yet? Or will this be a game time decision?

As devious as Mike is I doubt that even he is trying to mislead anyone here ..

I will add ... there is NO WAY that the Dr OR Mike will be able to handle RG3 if they decide to not let him start this game...

There is NO WAY that RG3 is NOT starting THIS game, THIS week - trust me on this

Robert Griffin III is not going to let ANYONE keep him off the field this week - NO WAY

I am in Baltimore and am so happy that Fox has moved the Giants at the Ravens game to 4:25PM ... so we'll get the Redskins on local TV

the game is a Fox game and they would not have the game "on" here at the same time

this way I get to see both games without having to go find a sports bar ....

although .... that's still a possibility

I know every game is a must win now, but I'm not crazy about RGIII starting vs the Fecals. All it's gonna take is one hit, or twisting that knee just the wrong way and RGIII could be done for the rest of the season. The Skins will need him for sure vs Dallas, but I think the Skins could easily handle the Fecals with Cousins playing. Why risk ending our season with a devistating injury to RGIII when they could easily give the knee another week to heal?

I agree. And if things get ugly with Cousins, we can always put RG3 in.

Rg3 is a football player not a tennis player....what do you want the coaches to do put him in a glass? Jeez stop being scared b-tches and watch him play....

 He's healed. Why not hold him out of every game for the rest of his career, since he's always one play away from a career ending injury? Sheesh!

No sprain, I don't care how minor, completely heals in 2 weeks. He may very well be able to come out and play full bore without a hitch, but why risk everything just to play him against a reeling Eagles team that Cousins could easily handle?

You'll be sorry you feel that way if he re-injurs that knee Sunday....

Because he is the QB of the Washington Redskins.

He is a QB we need healthy if we're going to make a run at the SB...Cousins is good, but he's not that good....
