Let's make him rookie of the week!!!! He clearly deserves it.

He did win. You can see the weekly winners running down the left-hand side of the voting page.

He definitely deserves RoW, but he's got some stiff competition with Wilson having three rushing TDs and a passing TD.

I voted for KC1 about a dozen times!

Has a team ever had 2 QB's win rookie of the week in the same season?

On a similar note... has a team ever had 3 rookies win Rookie of the Week in the same season?

Don't know, but the Redskins drafted two guys in the same year who each made the HoF. (And CT knows who...but a remarkable draft.)

Sam Huff and Sonny started playing the same year but they were not our draft picks

Battles and Edwards from 1932?

If KC wins, the Skins will have had 9 ROW winners in 15 weeks. Pretty unreal.

And 3 of the 7 ROW winners will be from the Skins.

Pretty nice draft............. It will still take 3-4 years to determine, but this past class could rival the 1981 class...... That would be insane.

Haha. Same year smoking was first reported to be considered potentially hazardous to your health...............

Monk was number 1 in 1980 draft; Grimm was number 3 in 1981. Bobby Beathard traded the 1982 first round pick to get a third round when he saw that Grimm was available. Mark May was the first round pick that year...Beathard found Jeff Bostic in 1980 (I can't remember if hey drafted Bostic), and Joe Jacoby, and undrafted free-agent in 1981.

Except for George Starke, who had started on the 1972 SB 7 team, all the Hogs were acquired in 1980 and '81.

One guy was ROY, and the other intercepted 12 passes in his rookie season.

I seem to remember Bostic being signed as a free agent to be the long snapper.

I think Joe Gibbs told that story. At the first practice, Gibbs saw Bostic in street clothes, turned to Bobby Beathard and asked, "Who's that guy?"

Beathard answered, "He's your long snapper".

Gibbs snapped (as snappishly as Joe could...let's imagine "firmly" but without venom). "We don't have a dedicated long snapper. We have players. If that guy isn't back here in uniform in 15 minutes, we don't need him".

I think maybe Bostic told the story during Joe's Redskins reunion...video around HogsNet someplace. Bostic said he was back in 10 minutes, suited up, and Gibbs put him into the practice.

Yes Yes. It was the 1964 draft -- the same year smoking was first reported as potentially dangerous. They were the Skins first 2 selections (i.e., Rds. 1 & 2 picks).
