Peter King says he is hearing that

the Redskins are talking to the Raiders about Samuels, since he won't restructure. On another board, there is talk that King said that the Redskins would trade Samuels and the 5th round pick to Oakland for the #2. We would then take Gallery at #2.

Who knows, but I thought I would throw it out there.

Get younger, cheaper and maybe better at a cornerstone position? Why not? I seriously doubt it will happen though...

that actually sounds like a decent trade

They'd have to give us more than that... Samuels is worth atleast a number one pick by himself.... I can't see us giving our number one at number 5 and Samuels for Gallery? Sounds lopsided to me....

Any link to this rumor?

thats is dumb.We need help on the def and we come up with that plan.Samuels is not doing that good for us,but a rookie at that position would be a set back.

Where did King say this? I can't find it on the web. It sounds crazy. Bugel raves about Chris.

What if we did this, and we trade Okland's pick away to Clevland. For their first and second. They want Gallery anyway. Then we could get either Sean Taylor and Kellen Winslow, and pick up a good Dlineman in the second round. Or we could get Sean Taylor and Tommy Harris.

Ya'll better watch out when Jake gets home from school and reads this!!!

This would be interesting - Chris and a 5th round pick - don't see it happening but hey, so far this offseason I have been surprised with other moves.

but then we'd be out an offense tackle, you can't run or pass without the hogs

I actually wouldn't mind that deal at all. At first I thought it meant Samuels and pick 5, but if its Samuels and round 5 I'd be in favor of it. This would only be a good trade if Samuels isn't willing to restructure NEXT year. I don't want another Champ Bailey type dilemma in a few years.

if the raiders wanted a left tackle, why wouldn't they take this gallery kid with their pick? why trade for a tackle when they can pick one who's cheaper, younger, and hailed as the best tackle since tony mandrich (remember that bust)

this makes no sense for the skins unless chris wants out badly and is letting the front office know about it.

where is this posted or reported - i'm not seeing it anywhere?

Many people here think Winey is capable of stepping in, and with Brunell projected to start, left tackle is going to be the weak side anyway. I don't think I'd do the deal without us taking Gallery though...

exactly, and let's face it at this point we've been overpaying for samuels. and gallery is an absolute stud!

so i guess you don't watch college football or the redskins. gallery flatout dominated and i can't imagine anyone saying that samuels was worth 10 mil a year the way last year went...i thought he was supposed to be getting better :?

BRANDON WINEY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly. Whe Samuels went down he was there to step in, and did a decent job against Jason Taylor. That means he definatley has potential.

that ain't gonna happen.

okay. samuels is worth ten million dollars a year.

there, i've said it. and in my opinion it's true. gallery can and likely will turn out to be a bust. so many stud o-lineman do. that's why chris is special. he's a legit superstar left tackle.

and explain to me please why the raiders wouldn't take gallery and then trade for samuels if our guy wasn't the better of the two? do you think the raiders are planning on sucking? makes no sense.

gambit. you spend an awful lot of time on a skins board for a cowboy fan. hhmmm. maybe you should just go ahead and come out of the closet and put on your burgundy and gold jersey. you know you want to.

We will probably lose Samuels next year anyway since his cap is getting huge.

Might as well get the "next" great left tackle 1 year before we lose our former "top left tackle"

This thread is totally pointless. I saw this rumor and nothing was reported from Peter King. It was just an idiot on an ESPN board trying to start crap. There is no basis to it and don't take anything from it.

Chris will come back in 2004 and for many years after and Gallery will NOT become a Redskin EVER.
