I was at the DC United game on Saturday and had a great thought. Why not host preseason games back at RFK? It would never happen due to it lessoning revenue streams but wouldn't that be great? Anyways - I was sitting in the stands feeling the seats rocking like the old days and dreaming...

Doesn't RFK stand for Robert F. Kennedy?

:hail:

Man, I wish I was at that game. I didn't even know they were on until I just happened to turn the T.V. to channel 7 just before Freddy got in the game.

I wouldn't mind having games back there. That stadium may not be the best but it definitely gave me an old school feel during the few games I went to see there. I also get chills whenever I ride the Metro past it. 8)

Definitely check out a United game if you get a chance - I was surprised at how good a time it was. I wish the 'skins could play even one preseason game at RFK... It's a pile of dung but man does that place hold noise. Plus you can't beat how the stands actually move when the crowd gets going.

It had been a few years since I'd been there and it brought back some great memories...

when i was playing pop warner, we had a great coach, who, whenever we would be slacking in practice, would point to the girls' soccer team practicing on the other field and 'gently' tell us that if we wanted to play that crappy, we could go over there and play soccer with the girls. it sucked at the time, but now i look back on it and laugh.

still, it's great exercise, and you have to do whatever it takes to get kids to understand sportsmanship and team attitude (no matter how painful to you!)

is that vanilla cream or chocolate cream? would you like fries with that?

I've gone to pretty much every DC United game since the team has been around. When its a good game, the fans get the bleachers rocking just like they used to for the skins. Always makes me a little sad and wish the skins were still there!

For all the RFK nostalgia, I've come to realize that the money made on Fedex allows the skins to be one of the wealthiest teams in the league. So, I'll no longer complain...

hopefully the jackass bud selig will alow us to have a baseball team (which is this cities god given right) and you would see a much a better game being played in RFK for at least a season or two, ...there the wealthiest team in the league because we the fan have to pay for some of the most expensive tickets in the league...why would you care how much Snyder makes??? I mean the man already has billions bursting from his pockets. The only cool thing about Fed Ex is that it now holds 92,000 people (8 thousand more and we have college stadium)

Don't get my started on the baseball in DC thing. I've been hoping for a long time! If it doesn't happen for 2005, it will never happen.
