It was only a matter of time before this thread went UP.

If not, then demote him. Dang you Shanny, we take 2 step forward and 1 step back. The buck stops at YOU, Shanny.......do something about it.

Isn't it the secondary that's killing us and isn't Raheem in charge of that unit?... Just sayin... Honestly, I've been watching all the defensive gripes and I'm just as frustrated as everyone else, but I think we have to give it a chance to play out. The last thing this team needs is more instability and starting over again with someone else's philosophy. The players need to play better. Too much cushion, bad angles to the ball, biting on double moves. The schemes could cover some of the deficiencies better, but we knew we weren't coming in with a #1 set of defensive backs and the loss of Merriweather and Jackson didn't help...

Yeah, because Raheem has shown us all how amazing he is at coaching up young players. His unit is the only part of the team that flat out sucks. Must be embarrassing to be the head coach of a football team, get fired, sign on as a positions coach, be the loudest man on the team and the leader of the unit that is dragging the team down with terrible play. Yeah lets promote that guy.

Haslett basically has one arm tied behind his back. His best CB is D. Hall for god sakes. He is now Rak-less and Carriker-less for the rest of the season. Safety was already a big concern going into the season and with our two starting safeties out, its obvious where teams are going to want to attack us.

Also, we have faced some of the best young QBs (Bradford, Dalton) and the very best QB (Brees) in the NFL the last three weeks.

Run D is solid. I say stay the course with Haz and make Raheem run laps with the rest of the secondary until things start looking more like and NFL defense.

Birnzido Raheem doesn't expect his secondary to cover for 5-6 seconds! His play calling (Haslett's) sucks to high heaven.

Sorry Skinzbaby, That's not how I saw the game. Most if not all of the TD passes were thrown in 3 seconds or less.

Sanu threw a the first TD in 3 seconds and we got beat because our Secondary over committed on the run.

Dalton threw a "quick out" to Binns for a 49yd TD.(held the ball for all of 2 seconds) Wilson just flat out got beat. Took a terrible angle.

The 59 yd TD to A. Hawkins (Dalton held the ball for almost 3 seconds) Crawford just got beat. Poor technique.

The 6yd TD to Gresham was out of Daltons hands in less than 3 seconds and 3 DBs failed to tackle him. London was the only player that got a good lick on Gresham and almost saved the TD.

Are there times when we don't get a good pass rush? Yes
Does that hurt our Secondary? Yes
Does Haz call the perfect play every time? No
Should he be fired for having the worst secondary and one of the best Run Ds in the NFL? No
Should Raheem and the Secondary run laps until they get it right? I think so.

All this talk about "we had a great practice" per players.

Out D sucks and something has to be done.

Dude, if you carry on talking sense like that then you're NEVER gonna fit in around here...

Yeah, lets replace our DC with our DB coordinator --- when the reason for our underperforming defense is directly attributed to our DBs!!!

I personally don't care that Raheem was a head coach at one time (so was Haslett). Each year Raheem was HC, his defense got worse. By his final year as HC, his team had the worst defense in the NFL.

The only thing MS could do to rectify the CURRENT situation is by finding better players -- which won't happen. They can try to make defensive adjustments but there are just too many holes in this defense. If they try one thing, it will expose another weakness. This problem can only be solved in the offseason. I am not against firing Haslett --- AT ALL --- but it shouldn't be done until the offseason.

Personally, I am against promoting a coordinator who is leading the worst secondary in the NFL..... and if you provide the excuse that it's the worst because of the personnel --- then you have to do the same for Haslett. Honestly, I wish MS had stayed with Blache.

Regardless, these are two direct by-products of poor drafting --- DB and OL depth. I think people need to realize that this franchise traded away their future picks year after year for more than a decade. That is LITERALLY the worse thing you can do in building a team. Depth is what comes from drafts. It takes 5 years minimum to build a team. That was a consideration in MS' 5 year deal.

What I want MS to do is sit down with BA and DRAFT WELL for the next 2 years. That will solve our problems.

I am angry as well. I still am.

But I do not make decisions when I am angry. Let's follow this season and make an assessment at the end, shall we?

I do not want any more drama surrounding the Skins for the moment.

firing haslett would do nothing more than officially stamp this season as a disaster. 3 games doesn't make a season....after 10 weeks then we have a pattern. gotta give these guys a chance to make adjustments....

How's this for predictability from our D. Coordinator?
Actually, it was just for this game,” Gruden replied. “Because Coach Haslett, I was just watching their wildcat reel. And every wildcat snap they had, they played Cover-0. And I’ve been waiting for it.

I am not an advocate of firing Haz during the season, but I heard Fletch after the Rams game say that we need to mix up the coverages more. I heard him say after the Bengal game that every one needs to step up their game and then he added including the coaches. These comments aren't a ringing endorsement of Haz. Now, the above quote from an opposing coach saying that Haz, at least, on the wildcat is very predictable. Put that with Fletch's statements and my confidence in Haz is wearing thin.

The comments were made on local DC TV interviews.

This is a big week for sure.

If we get burned by a sub standard passing team then it shows that lessons aren't being learned.

The talent of a coach really comes into play when they have below-par players and need to use systems that get the very best out of them.

Between Morris and Haslett they have to find a system or systems that get the best out of what we have, which isn't a lot but there are other teams with similar talent levels in the secondary who are not getting murdered like we are. That's coaching.

If it really was individual errors to blame last week then we should see an improvement this week. But my gut says our coverage issues are down to more than just a lack of talent....

Agree. There is a big difference between 2-2 and 1-3. This is as must win as it gets right now.
