IMO there is no way Taylor drops to #12

There is no way we should take a D-lineman at the 5 overall. You have to trade down if your dead set on the D-line. I really want Sean Taylor, but if we're going to get a DT, I'd rather have Wilfork than Harris.

Looks like all the mocks out there have Tommy Harris or Sean Taylor at #5.

I think we could trade down and get Harris, Wilfork, or Starks...PLUS extra picks.
There is NO reason to take a DT at #5 when other teams would be willing to trade up to get a top WR or QB.

I would like to see the Skins take Winslow at #5, we could have a TE in the likes of Gonzalez/Heap for years to come! Just what Joe needs.

Taylor too would be worth the #5.

I do not see the Skins having this high of a pick for a looooong time (lets hope so)....so while we do have a high pick we should make it worthwhile and get a future superstar...since we will be getting the last pick in the 1st round (SuperBowl Champ's pick) for the next 3 years.

#5 is at least 5 spots too high for Harris - maybe more. It is possible that Taylor could slide - only because of the various needs of the teams at the top of the Draft and teams trying to trade up to get a WR, Gallery or one of the QB's. The same can be said for Winslow. I'd buy Taylor at 5th overall - but not Harris - not a chance... well I'd give pretty good odds :0)

Being a hokie and skins fan, I would not like to see Kevin Jones wearing a blue star.

I've thought about this a lot and think we should definitely get Sean Taylor with the 5th pick. Then we trade Rod Gardner for a second or third round pick and pick up the best defensive lineman on the board (Starks, Hilton, etc.)

What do you think about that scenario?

the kicker is, I'd like Harris even better if we can find somebody that wants to move JUST a couple spots, and that wants to toos a #3 into the mix.

Harris is a beast, but I can't see him as an all-around DT. He is probably the fastest DT of all-time, but he doesn't have the bulk to be a run stuffer. I like Harris, but he's oue emergency pick if Taylor is gone.

Unless we get a really good trade down offer, like I'm thinking jumping back no further than the 12th or 13th pick, and whoever throwing in a 2nd or early 3rd rounder.... we need to take Taylor if he's there at number 5....

Harris,Udeze,Wilfork,Smith, & Starks have been jumping up and down draft/ranking boards on ESPN,CBSSportsline,FOXSports,The Sporting News,Nickelodeon,Sports Illustrated,etc...etc... for months now... none of them have come out and said this is the number 1 D-Lineman everyone should take.... basically there all the same... they all are good and have the potential to be Great....

Well, I don't really want another Bobby Wilson, Kenard Lang, Dan Wilkinson, or Sean Gilbert used on a first round Draft pick.... ESPECIALLY when there's not a clear cut D-Lineman out there who we know can do the job....

Plus Taylor has been a top 6 or 7 pick all along and alot of the critics say he's the best Denfensive player in the draft... He would help shore up our secondary.

Miami is one of the best Football school's and they do nothing but pump out NFL stars.... Lewis,Sapp,Armstead, Reed,A.Johnson,Portis,Shockey,E.James, etc...etc...

Yes, our line isn't what we would all like it to be but, you've got to say it's a big improvement from last year!?!?
Plus we got a genius as our D Coach in Greg Williams...and they won't be on the field as long as they where last year because we got a Super Genius for a head coach running the offense...

I'd rather get a playmaker in Taylor than a good potentially great D-Lineman just because we need one......

I think we have a runnstopper in Griffin, we need a pass rush from the middle to help those DE out who ever they are.

Great Post!!! I couldn't have said it better myself. What do you think we should do if S. Taylor is gone at number five? There will probally still be some special players out there but none at need areas and we do need to get a dlineman somehow.

Exactly...A DT that runs a 4.6!!!!How can you pass that up??

I like Taylor but I am starting to change my mind. Who knows we might have a younger faster Sapp on our hands, if we were to draft Harris

Well, if Taylor isn't there.... which would really suck in my opinion... well then we gotta trade down, because none of the D-Lineman are worth a number 5 pick IMO.... Hopefully if Taylor is gone then that means Roethlisberger is still there because i think that's the only guy that someone might consider giving us a good pick for... maybe the Steelers at number 11, the Bills at 13, or at worst the 49ers at 16.... we sould still be able to grab a good lineman... I'd take Udeze or Harris (i rate them the same) with Wilfork just behind them.... but we better get a good 2nd or 3rd in return.
