.... RGIII faced the "worst" defense of the 5 rookie QBs who starting this weekend.

He is saying that ....Robert played phenomenally BUT:

Luck vs. bears was tough (my words)
Wilson vs. cards was tough (my words)
Tannehill vs. Houston was no contest (my words)
Weeden vs. iggles was no joke (my words)

So RGIII faced the "worst" D of these 5 QBs..... HMMM the Aints have a pretty solid D you DOOFUS....!!!

Well, the Saints did have the #24 defense last year, in terms of yardage per game (G-strings #27 - Patsies #31), but in terms of points per game (the stat that really matters) they were #5 in the NFL.

Was it that RGIII played against the worst or made them look the worst.

That said, IMHO ARI has the worst, but I do think NOLA was second. But that isn't say much considering HOU, CHI, and PHI are 3 of the better defensive teams in the NFL.

I guess you can make that argument. Its only game one, so nobody REALLY knows yet how good any of these defenses are. Maybe we get to Week 12 and realize the Saints were just terrible this year.

They did give up 40 points to a rookie QB, so they can't be that good.

Actually, the Cardinals are one of the better defenses this year. You heard it here first!

While I was looking up the defensive statistics, I noticed that we are #1 in offense after week 1. The Smeagols are #2, and the Cowpies are #3.

Actually it was against a team with no defense and no coach.

Rex Grossman was 21-34, 305 yds and 2 TDs in week 1 last year...Need to give RGIII time to see if he really can follow up.

Really? I didn't realize Payton coached the Saints defense. I thought that was Steve Spagnuolo's job.

I meant 1. no defense and 2. no head coach.

Yeah, I got that. I was pointing out that missing their regular HC (an offensive coach), shouldn't affect how the defense plays.

Maybe Spags isn't an upgrade over GW!
(of course I never thought he was)

Why were you listening to Collin Cowturd? He is almost as obnoxious as Jim "Fly as a White guy" Rome!

I would rather listen to static or NPR (if it was still funded).

Solid defense and Saints don't even mix.. totally oil and water.

They've always had issues with teams putting up big numbers on them and that's why we always see the Saints scoring so many points.. basically to catch up or maintain a lead.

Honestly, I only know that because of FF  When deciding to start a WR over another one, if I see Saints defense that week, I'm starting someone against them all the time.. hands down.

.. so I actually agree with him but I still don't like him.

Bears- obviously
Cards- they play real good defense vs other nfc west teams
Houston- obviously
Smeagles- obviously

So yes, RG3 had the easiest time considering.

The Saints do have one of the worst defenses in the league. However, they were playing at home, and the Superdome is one of the (if not the) most difficult places to play in on the road. And there was additional pressure on RGIII to score a lot, because we all knew that Drew Brees was going to rack up major points.

So while I would agree with whoever this guy is that the Saints are statistically the worst defense any of the rookie QBs faced, that doesn't mean that RGIII had the easiest assignment of the week.

side note... I neva knew Tracy Porter is in Denver. Him, Dawkins and Champ are a helluva good DB bunch back there.

ok that's all.. lol.. just remembered cuz of the saints.

Shanaclan outcoached the Aints big time.
RGIII executed the plan to damned near perfection.
I love what I saw.
Bob will only get BETTER!
Osi may end up calling him "Mister 3" if he continues to shine.
Don't care what those talking meds say.

Spags is new to N.O. so maybe the team just hasn't gelled yet...?
