.....will the Redskins' season really start on Sunday? Or is there any truth in the rumour (that I've just made up) that Goodell will announce at 12:30 EST on Sunday that the Redskins will only be allowed to play 8 games this year, with their "missing" games being allocated to other franchises, according to the will of the Grand PooBah of Stinky Poo, Mr Mara?

This rare punishment is retrospective retribution for the Redskins reprehensible and unfair winning of three Superbowl titles under Joe Gibbs. Clearly, this was against the spirit of allowing the Giants to win everything. I have seen a recording of Mr Mara's pre recorded pronouncement on the issue, and was particularly struck by this excerpt:
