NFL legend Junior Seau was found dead in his home in Oceanside, CA ... and cops are investigating a shooting ... multiple law enforcement sources tell TMZ.
Cops are currently at Seau's home just outside San Diego. Seau was 43-years-old ... and leaves behind 3 kids and an ex-wife.
Seau was a beast in the NFL -- skyrocketing to fame thanks to his explosive play with the San Diego Chargers, Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots. The USC standout was selected in the first round of the NFL draft in 1990 and played in the league for 20 years.

Speculating suicide, but who knows. Sad news either way.

Reports that he committed suicide today. Self inflicted gun shot. Very sad.

This is a time for fans to reflect not only on Junior's life and legacy as a football player, but society's views on professional athletes and how we view them as individuals.
It's fun to criticize, denegrate, and judge players--but at the end of the day they are people. It's easy to call them greedy, selfish, or foolish, but they are the ones who put themselves at extreme risk to play the game we love to watch.
The average lifespan of an NFL player is over 30 years shorter than that of the average person. Recently, there has been a lot of research showing that post-concussive effects are linked to higher incidents of depression and suicide.
So, the next time you think to call a guy greedy for wanting more compensation, ask yourself what your life is worth. By all accounts, Junior was a good character guy as well. But, at the end of the day, he couldn't escape his own mind. #RIP

I think that is an urban myth. If you want to start a new thread, we can discuss that, but I don't want to take this thread off topic.
