Draft Day Thread: Browns trade for #3 pick

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Draft Day Thread: Browns trade for #3 pick

Post by Deadskins »

The Browns just traded for the #3 spot from the Vikings. They gave up a 4th, 5th, and 7th to move up 1 spot.
Did Vinny take a job with the Browns?

Didn't they say it was stupid to move up 2 spots.... I guess going up 1 is OK

Browns got their Trent Richardson. I like the pick for them.

But did they really need to give up 3 later round picks to get him? I doubt it.

We may never know, but we do know Cleveland got their guy without selling the house (The house is displayed below).

Nothing wrong with guaranteeing your guy. Shanny and Co. guaranteed that they would get a "franchise" QB in the draft. While there is no guarantee that the draft choice will pan out. At least you got your guy.

Disclaimer: If your name is Vinny Cerrato - you have no business in the business, so this strategy or any strategy for you will not work.

Brown's are still looking good for this year's draft.

The Pies trade their 2nd rounder this year to the Rams for our former #6 pick and take Morris Claiborne.

Dallas takes Claiborne with our former pick.

Smart move by Dallas because RGIII is coming to a Stadium near Dallas.

The Rams have been busy converting that #2 pick into a ton of picks...

Jacksonville trades up to get Gabbert last year and so far it hasn't looked like a smart move. This year they trade up to get Blackmon ... Receiver and QBs each have some of the highest first round miss rates. If I am a Jacksonville fan, I am not sure that I like this move.

Tannehill to the Dolphins was as sure a deal as Luck to the Colts and RGIII to the Skins.

Tannehill reunited to with Mike Sherman.

Does this say anything about Matt Flynn?

That Fitz and Floyd just might save the career of Kolb provided he can keep Skelton on the bench.

Weeden to the Browns - another shocker. All the top QBs went right where most said that they would.

yeah ... but I'm really glad they didn't take Barron - he's going to be a better player :)
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I agree, Barron is excellent. That's who I thought they were going to take - so I'm glad they didn't.

It's not nice when you see a player you really rate end up with The Forces of Darkness in the draft, especially as we have to face them twice a season....

agree with both of you. When Goodell went to the podium for Dallas, I was listening for Barron's name - relieved when I didn't hear it.
