Here's to Renewed Rivalries

This salary cap situation has really started to mess with my head this offseason...

Since as long as I can remember, I (like many of you) have rooted for two teams: The Skins and whoever's playing Dallas. Growing up just outside of Philthy easily puts my disdain for the Beagles on par with my hatred for the Cowpies, but my feelings on the G-strings have been somewhat ambivilant. Although a division rival, I was always at least satisfied that if Washington didn't win the division, at least they made sure Dallas and Philly didn't either.

This year, however, things changed. Washington and Dallas have had bigger fish to fry at the moment with a common enemy. Not a truce, at best a temporary cease fire. Once the season starts, all bets are off... I want blood. My hatred for Philly is going nowhere, but I can honestly say my hatred for the Gnats has skyrocketed in 2012.

I've seen some of the older members of the board talk about the rivalry between Washington and NY, but it was a little before my time. After last season's Super Bowl (which they pulled from where the sun don't shine), the crap that their players were talking last season after we beat them... twice, and the latest stunt from that beady-eyed troll of an owner, I think their's a new three way tie for teams I downright loathe!

I can't wait to see the Skins come out this season and punch all three of those (*smack) teams in the mouth!!!

;furious; :evil: ;furious;

An adapted soccer song sung by fans at games that seems apt, to the tune of world war II song 'Bless 'em all' ;

F--k em all, F--k em all,
The Cowboys, Giants and Eagles,
Cos we are the Redskins and we are the best,
We are the Redskins so f--k all the rest!!

I can't see that catching on at FedEx but it would be nice to hear it when one of them came to town!

44diesel.. I respect that bro, you'll never hear me argue about hating an NFC East no matter how you have the hate-meter ranked from 1-3. I know the fans higher up I-95 around PA and NY, since ya'll live in it would hate those guys a little more but besides the obvious we hate the cowboys thing... let me break it down from a DC area P.O.V.

We hate filly and ny because we play them twice a year and we've been doing it forever. Cuz DC is on I-95 and the amount of people that come here for jobs from up north, we have ny and filly transplants. Though I can't stand the "word is born" and "sun" talk, I really don't have any issues because they are from up there. (mind you, in Fedex I represent for the whole DC area so I do buckup with them gameday)

Now.. dalass. The cowboy fans in this area are the lowest lifeforms on the planet. They are the maggots of the nfl.. if they crap in their living rooms they would think it's roses. Majority of these fans who grew up here just became fans cuz they hate their parents.. tired of us because majority of us who grew up here are skins fans. Dumb crap like that.. and plenty of them have never been to Texas let alone dalass. My hatred for the cowboys goes back to people from DC area who are fans, so I hate the team even more. However, anyone I meet from TX who is a cow fan, I show them nothing but love and give them the maximum respect.

So in conclussion, I hear you brutha, but until pigs start to fly in the sky over 495, dalass will ALWAYS be my most hated team.

but F giants and filly too.

LPJ, I hear ya. I think the most annoying thing for me about Philthy fans is their constant need to remind each other how to spell. It gets old fast. No matter where they are restaurants, baseball games, movie theaters... if one sees another in green they can't resist.

I hate that ;furious; song! I propose new lyrics...

Die Eagles Die
Choke before Victory
Why Eagles Why
Are your fans so annoying?
Eagles blow and Eagles cry
The Philly fans all whine...
Why eagles Why
Can't you win any rings?
E-A-G-L-E-S SUCK!!!!

I don't know. I kinda feel like the Cowboys rivalry is stale and overrated. You've gotta be over 40 to even sort of remember those big games in the 80s. The only thing I really hate about the Cowboys anymore is the idiot fans around here with as much connection to Dallas or Texas as I have to Serbia.

Personally I think both the Eagles and Giants are much better rivalries. They're a short drive away, and anybody who has been to Fedex in the past 15 years knows they drive down to our stadium and complete f* up what should be a great, home game atmosphere. To top it off, I don't think any Cowboys fan could possibly rival the d-bagedness of the average NY or Philadelphia fan. They all suck.

So yeah I completely agree with 44diesel. I hated the Giants already. Now they think they're wonderbread for being the crappiest team to win a super bowl in recent memory, AND Mara is out there screwing us over at every opportunity.

It won't be hard for me to cheer for ANY team playing the G-strings this year. Cowboys included.

we Redskins fan make the "rivalry" what it is but in all honesty, it isn't a rivalry anymore bro. last "rival" season was when brunell and moss pooped over dallas down there.. but other than that my friend, its really not a rivalry because we can't sustain overall wins

I could never hate any team more than Dallas. But, I will say that prior to this cap BS, I thought of the NYG as the least hated of the 3. If they played either the Cowgals or Eagles, I'd prefer they won. Not anymore. I hate them just as much as the Eagles now. I hope a curse befalls their organization and they lose every game to the NFC East THIS year. Yeah I said it.

I wasn't raised to let a man steal from you, then spit on your face and tell you you're lucky you didn't get worse--then not want to utterly punish that person.

The day of the Geechy is over. Curse the Giants to be damned.

Seriously. Dallas Week? We want Dallas chants?? What would "we want Dallas" for in the past 20 years? hahah. I feel you on the "dolt puke fans", but I'm with langelyparkjoe about the rivalry.

:-k Just like Obama talking about the evil rich.

:hmm: Anyway, isn't that a day at the office for a lawyer?

Giants being super bowl champs while the cowboys and we missed the playoffs makes it all the more preposterous. The rich stealing from the poor...

the comments of Mara are so utterly infuriating that the Giants have catapulted to #1 on my hate list, and by a wide margin. this is a pathetic, whining, sniveling, entitled little rich kid who inherited a team and thinks he can do whatever he wants and anyone who doesn't do what he says deserves to be punished even if what he was doing was WRONG. he deserves to be CRUSHED. his team must be DESTROYED.

A rivalry is a rivalry, end of.

Just because one or both of the teams goes through a lean spell doesn't make it redundant. You don't have to be fighting it out in the Championship game for it to be important, although it obviously adds spice.

If you're not sure, the best way to work out how you really feel about the other teams in our division is to close your eyes and picture Romo, Vick or Eli with the Lombardi trophy surrounded by teammates and fans as the world looks on adoringly.

It may be different for you, but as much as I dislike the other two, its only when that team from Texas wins it that I truly feel sick to my stomach.

I don't doubt what you're saying. For me personally, I've just had awful experiences sitting among a crowd of Giants fans at Fedex (while we were getting beat of course) and Eagles fans (McNabb's parents no less). There's just something especially galling about that to me.

The local Cowboys fans are irritating, but you know they didn't drive out from Texas just to gloat in your stadium. :)

Over here soccer fans just don't mix. They do at rugby and cricket, but never soccer. And people say that's a shame, that we should all mingle.

But you know what, its great to just be around fans of your own team and to have the visiting teams fans together in a corner, that makes for a much better atmosphere in the stadium.

I hear your pain Riggo, I'd hate that around me, it ruins the game if its fans of a team you can't stand. Sometimes you can have a bit of banter but not with a rival teams fans.

At a soccer game, an opposition fan sitting near you celebrating is literally a green light for everyone to dive in and give them a kicking, and when the police or stewards show up its the out of place fan that's ejected!

Is there ever any trouble at FedEx with opposing fans in the ground winding up skins fans.?

It's easy for me - I could care less who owns the giants, pukes or the eagles

I cannot stand the players, coaches or fans of the giants, pukes or the eagles

the owners are irrelevant to me - I dislike the owners of all 3 franchises, hell, I don't even like Snyder
I don't hate him but I wish he'd sell the franchise

there's not much to like about ANY sport played in the New York region OR ANY & ALL fans of NY sports

NY sports SUCKS - BIG TIME - especially the giants and the yankees

Its a sad sight indeed Kaz....
While I agree the gnats need to be punished, I won't be rooting for the pukes opening day only a natural disaster, but if they win I'm ok with it. Giants win ill be a little bugged.
That said hopefully they are both in the basement at the end of the year

This thread has turned into a discussion on whose Pom Poms are bigger.

At the end of the day, as long as WE beat both teams like step children, we can handle this situation like it should be handled. But, when it comes down to opening day, you can't "cheer" for the guy whose basically punched your mom in the nose and taking a dump in your food just because you want to be a good little fan. I want the NYG to lose to every team in the NFC East this year for what they're trying to do. Period.

I hope they both miss the playoffs by one game--just close enough to devastate them and their fanbase, and give them medicore pick in the first round next year.

I'm a football purist. I get more pleasure watching the Cowboy fans, and their owner go into deep depressive states by narrowly missing out on their hopes and dreams, and have no real way to improve next year.

No team can ever be more hated than Dallas. But, to come away from this offseason with the same level of angst toward the NYG is way too Type B for me.

The worst the Dallas Cowboys have done is hold "Hail to the Redskins" hostage. NEVER have they resorted to such cheap mechanisms to gain a competitive advantage. The Giant need to lose twice to all 3 NFC East teams... and they need to be badly beaten by the Redskins and Cowboys.

On this occasion, I WILL be cheering for that disgusting rabble from Arlington. When they play the skins, I will want the Cowboys destroyed... but in the case of the Giants... the enemy of OUR enemy is our friend...
