Irsay says the right things

He just wants to keep everyone in SUSPENSE:

Colts owner Jim Irsay indicated Tuesday that Stanford QB Andrew Luck is not a foregone conclusion as the No. 1 pick in next month's draft.
"It's up in the air," Irsay said. "We have to look at this thing completely open-minded. You have two outstanding athletes, two great pure passers, two guys from families that are incredible." It's hard to fault Irsay for taking his time when there's no longer a consensus that Luck is the top prospect. By committing early, the Colts could lose negotiating leverage and a chance to read the Redskins' cards at quarterback.

Colts could lose <snip> a chance to read the Redskins' cards at quarterback.

That's a load of crap... why would the Colts care about what the skins want? They have the first pick... period... the skins will remain inscrutable, no matter what, until the Colts make their call...

With the rookie cap, there is no leverage, and what cards? We want RGIII. Case closed. Stop being a douche, Jim, and just pick already.

I agree guys - the Colts have no reason to keep a lid on this decision

Jim Irsay, on the other hand, just loves the attention and will milk this

the apple does not fall far from the tree - this is a person that is not playing with a full deck

Colts going after RG3 instead of Luck

the redskins may not be able to get rg3. Jim Irsay said he's still interested in RG3.

There's nothing new in that article, except for the title. How he gets that the Colts are now leaning torwards RGIII is anybody's guess.

Not so fast. Now Jim Irsay is sending "Illuminati" like coded Tweets about RG3. This dude is an Attention Hooker if ever there was one. Dude, just draft Luck and shut up.

It was followed this morning by this tweet...

Jim Irsay

@JimIrsay
I've stumped you on this riddle!! Ranger,Gate,3 sisters...hmmmmm!!

He later revealed that the answer was RG3. I’m assuming it’s meant to imply something about RG3 but what that implication is, I have no idea. But this tweet made me look at some of his other tweets and it made my head hurt.

This is proof that money rules the world. You don't have to be the smartest. Just "luck" up and be born into extreme wealth. No pun intended.

There are 2 reasons to play this game.
One is to speed the player to a contract decision that is more favorable to the team. Unless RGIII is the coolest, most Machiavellian operator in the history of the NFL Draft, he DOES NOT sound like a man who is in the midst of a contract negotiation with Irsay. Luck, on the other hand, is quiet as a mouse... exactly what I would expect from a smart player being advised by a smart agent, in the middle of contract negotiations. If he's negotiating with Luck, I suspect his agent is smart enough to see the same things I see.

The other is to goad another team into a trade of picks, to ensure they get the player they want.

Well, he COULD be doing this as an attempt to bait the Redskins into swapping picks. I have no idea what he would expect the Redskins to trade... but I don't see it.

So, why would he do this? He's Irsay. Perhaps he has to many greenbacks... and not enough grey matter. Who knows

Donovan McNabb is about to comment on how RG3 will fit in Washington if Indy takes Luck.

Que the hate from this fat, lazy loser in about 2 minutes.

I'm shocked, SHOCKED that, though truth is laced throughout, his take wasn't exactly positive. It is very hard to look at your own shortcomings and take responsibility for them. Far easier to highlight the kernel of truth in someone else's shrotcomings and over blow it to compensate for your role in the cluster.

Or, put another way, what a crock

[sarcasm] Well, of course, anything Donovan would have to say on this subject is completely relevant... I mean, RG3 is a clone of Donovan "worm killer" McNabb... right? [/sarcasm]

OTOH... Donovan might just provide some actual insight... or would that be too much to ask?

Sorry... stupid question...

Yeah, we all know it's not sour grapes from Donavan McNabb.
He wasn't to blame for what happened to him in Washington, it's Shannahan. It was egos, not work ethic. I mean, after all, does anyone need to ponder the success Dmac had in Minnesota? Oh wait...

hahaha!
