How can they legally do this? If it was an uncapped year, why couldn't we do what we wanted with our salaries?

My guess would be that they save most of that 36 million hit for next season.

Well, if you look at it. If we split it 50/50 between the next two seasons, that's 18 million.

We are supposedly about 40 million under the cap, so that still leaves us with over 20 million dollars to spend.

Plus, we could cut more players to make more room before tomorrow @ 4PM

This would have been nice to know before we made the big trade. No we have no draft picks or salary cap space.

The purpose of the uncapped year was so that teams could spend what they want. So why punish them retroactively??

Wow that sucks. I don't understand why we're being punished for this. How was this "cheating"?

I don't believe this BS for a second.

And we didn't even go crazy last year.. in actuality don't we have more roll over + the cap space totaling ~80 million?

WTF. All of these moves were APPROVED by the NFL! We sent modified contacts to the NFL, they approved them, and NOW the moves aren't OK!

That is why they had to send contracts to the league for approval! They signed off on then do they were OK with the NFL at one time.
