This article is related to the last article that I posted. The previous article dove into the differences between how the scouting dept was run before Mike got here and how it's improved since.

The article linked above goes into why the department was not cut loose and rebuilt. Great stuff.

That's a good piece. Nice hearing more about these guys behind the scenes who help make the decisions.

The unasked question from that article though is why that department was so bad/unsuccessful with Cerrato - and apparently doing much better with Shanahan and Allen. I'd love to hear THAT story!

I imagine that this story is some embellisment of the following:

Scounting Department ("SD"): these are all of the guys that are good broken down by round and by position.

Vinny ("Jackass"): I like these 4!!! Woohooo

SD: Um, vinny, that guys has a grade of do not draft because he only had one good year at Michigan State and is impossible to coach

JackAss: Yeehaw, he's the man! He can return kicks, too, shoulda won the heisman!

SD: I have nothing to say to that. I think you might be a moron.

Jackass: That's right, I'm the MAN!!

SD: Can we quit?
