IF we trade down, what are your predictions?

So, lets say we do trade down. How far down do we trade, what extra pics do we get, and who do you think we take in the first 3 rounds?

Cinci or Cleveland - If we do - Tannenhill is the pick

I could see Cleveland only because they have two 1st Rd picks but it's really going to be tough because you have to see who's really going to be there and did anyone trade up. Just too hard to predict.

I see three possible trade down scenarios for us.

1) Trade the 6th pick to CINN for their 17th & 21st. Cincy desperately needs a RB and would love nothing more than if Trent Richardson is there at 6, if indeed they are looking to trade up. This trade would make sense as They got their QB & WR last year and have a pretty good defense. It also is pretty close to even on the value chart.

2) Cleveland lands RGIII with the 4th pick as everyone bluffs and no one actually moves up to get him at 2 or 3. They feel compelled to surrond him with a playmaker immediately as their O-line is pretty solid. They trade their 22nd pick, next year's # 1 and somthing else (possibly a 3rd rounder, i don't know what would work out based on the chart) for our # 6 pick to grab either Blackmon or Richardson, who are both miraculously still on the board.

3) NE, being exrtemely pissed that they lost another SB to the underdog Giants looks to make a splash and create an even better offense and trades the 27, 31 and 48 picks for our #6 and one of our 4th rounders to grab, who else, Trent Richardson.

If we do get 17 & 21, I'd love to get DeCastsro & either Tannehill or Osweiler (whoever Shanny feels is a better fit). If we move to 22, we take our QB, and if the crazy NE deal goes thru, maybe we can get our QB at 27, and a WR & CB & OL with the 31st, 48th and our 2nd rounder (39 I believe).

I know some of you may think I'm crazy, as Ive seen a lot of people comment that you don't trade up to draft a RB. I just think Richardson is the best RB prospect since AP and has much less wear & tear on him. He is also a physical freak who breaks tackels with ease and will probably light it up at the combine. That being said, odds are he is off the board at # 5 to TB.

Why would Cleveland trade #4 and #22 for #6?

Cincy and NE have two first rounders too. I could see Cincy trading up with us to go after Trent Richardson or some other stud. They were a playoff team last year without a lot of holes. Making a move up to get somebody they feel can put them over the top probably makes some sense.

You could say the same thing about NE I guess, but do they ever make those kinds of moves? Seems like they always end up trading down and hoarding picks.

I think Frank meant that since they have 2 they could trade 1 pick away and still grab a first rounder.

Gotcha.

I am generally a big fan of trading down, it's often the smart move... but in this draft I want to move up. Now is the time to strike. The Redskins finally have a good support base and moving up to take a young QB finally makes sense. I hope the Skins move up to take Griffin or Luck.

Saw today that they expect that the value to move up from 6 to 2 will be in 2012 - 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 2013 1st & 2nd. So basically that's 5 players for 1 guy. You better make sure he's the guy or you get fired for that trade.

That's a steep price for sure. I look at it more like 4 for 1 though, since you're essentially swapping 1st round picks. You're giving up a net of 4 picks for 1. That's a lot. Perhaps there are ways to recoup some of those picks. This will be interesting.

I agree, but I think the assumption is that we can't do it and they are off the board. We certainly want to explore moving down at that point. Unfortunately, you can analyze it all you want, but it's an opportunistic move. Once you're on the clock, you prepare a pick but wait for the phone to ring. If you're calling, they're looking for you to give up more. You wait for them to call. No one tells you who they really like until you are on the clock.

IMO, The only way this makes sense is if we have already signed several key Free Agents.

I predict a lot of whining and calling for Mike's head. This draft/off-season will dictate "hot-seat" talk for the rest of the season. If RGIII or another capable QB is landed, it'll quell those sentiments a bit longer, if not....hell.

please tell me you're kidding

that deal has been discussed here for a couple of months now and most everyone has agreed that is what we should do

why the question?

AND ... your math is off - it's not going to take a 1st PLUS a 2nd in 2013

AND

even if it did - we get RGIII - so that means it's ONLY 4 top 50, really good players

welcome to the dark side - u r in the minority on this one

If we trade down we could pick up 2 really nice linemen. Class looks deep this year.
