Today, RGII said he expects to run below 4.4 at the Scouting Combine. To put that in perspective for a QB, Michael Vick (probably the greatest runner in history at the position ran a blazing 4.36 in 2001 prior to entering the NFL).

Historically, Randall Cunningham ran a 4.4 Forty.

In recent memory, other elusive QBs with above average athletic ability and ability to move the chains, Cam Newton ran a 4.59 at the Combine. And, Tim Tebow ran a 4.7. Obviously, Cam at 6'5 250 and Tebow at 6'3 250 are different physical talents.

Standing at 6'2.5 and weighing in at 220lbs, RG3 has a body type closer to that of Cunningham. But, Cunningham was more of a wiry, slippery and elusive runner than an explosive and agile guy like RG3.

If you ask me, RG3 is a one of a kind athlete. He's not like any of these guys. The best way that I would project him as an NFL player would be as a combination of skills that other QBs have had.

For example, I would say that Vick is more of a combination between Steve Young & Barry Sanders. An elusive player who could burn you when a play breaks down. Able to left or right equally, and strong with a low center of gravity. The lefty status of Vick and Young makes them alike as well.

RG3 has more of the pocket presence of a young Warren Moon or a Matt Ryan. He stands tall and doesn't have happy feet in pressure. But, he's got cat-like reflexes like Vick. He can go from standing in the pocket to dynamic runner in a split second. I think what the NFL can expect from RG3 is a guy who combines the pocket presence and arm of a Matt Ryan with unrivaled running ability. He's more of an explosive sprinter that I haven't seen at QB before. His running style is more reminiscent of Gayle Sayers to me. Fluid, fast, quick, and smooth.

Needless to say, I think he's going to be a special pro.

I think you're dead on. I would also add that I think he has the smarts and the attitude to succeed.

All the guys drafted in the first round have the physical skills to succeed (although clearly not the same physical skills that RG3 has) but what turns a guy into a superstar is his ability to continue to work hard at this level. And I think RG3 will outwork anybody...

I would be so psyched to see the Skins get this guy and solidify our QB position for the next decade.

I saw a draft prediction that the Browns would skip RG3, and the Redskins would get him at Pick 6.

That would be the gift to compensate for the last 20 years for sure.

I think your right. This guy could be special and I think he is. I think he is worth the gamble, but you have to draw the line somewhere. He might be better than Luck in the long run. I think he is but I am a nobody. I just look at what he can do but if we do get him by some miracle, then we have to wait until he is ready. By what people say he is sort of a project QB. It might take a couple of years. I want the gamble but I do not want to lose picks for drafting up and reaching for anyone else. Listen to him speak and watch him play. He is all that I believe.

The Redskins are not taking R.G.III with the 6th pick of this draft - guaranteed

it's really simple - IF the Redskins want R.G.III they will trade up to get him

There is no way that R.G.III is not taken before the 6th pick in the draft - HE OFFERS TOO MUCH

I repeat - they will do what it takes to get him or he will not be there when they pick

Everyone is finding out what Baylor fans have known for several years. He has the full package of what you would look for in a QB. Beyond the obvious (great athleticism, great QB skills) he has the intangibles of being a great ambassador for his team, a great leader, and most of all an ability to will his team to a win when they need it (see the Oklahoma game, among many). I agree he won't be there at 6 and he is absolutely worth trading up for. The press is going to be going nuts for him even more after the combine and his pro day. Hence, the price will be steep. He is worth it in my estimation.

Hogster, I think that's as excellent a description as words could offer.

Let me add this .... I haven't seen a young man with more on the ball intellectually than RG3. I'd give him the Tiger Woods crown for focus, the Michael Vick trophy for athleticism, and the Peyton Manning award for understanding the QB position.

The more I look at this kid, the more I'm beginning to understand why a few talent guys have him rated equal or higher than Andrew Luck.

I just can't imagine a football coach that could do anything but love this kid like a son. And I truly would love to see the Redskins go out and get him, because this guy is going to be a great NFL football star.

I really think this kid has the ability and the brains to an elite QB in the NFL for the next decade + ... with the sky the limit.

I saw a piece talking about how highly the Colts rate him and how much he took to Indianapolis. It suggested it was 50-50 who the Colts went for. Could they actually take him instead of Luck....????

If they did and we traded up to #2 then we'd have Luck rather than RGIII.

How do we all feel about that....?

I guess it doesn't matter who it is if they are as good as that, but I think RGIII would be a more exciting watch at QB for us.

I'll take either one as long as we don't have to give up what ATL gave up for Jones last year.

The Falcons gave up 2011 and 2012 first round picks, a 2011 second round pick and both 2011 and 2012 fourth round picks to move up 21 spots. There is no way it'll cost more than that to move up four, if so they should trade down.

“I’m getting ready to go to the only combine of my life,” he says. “Next year there won’t be a Wonderlic test, 40-yard dash or interviews with all the teams. So I want to take in the whole experience."

I'd agree with that - I actually think that this FO will do a lot to trade up BUT ...

despite what some here think - they will not be stupid about it

actually, that will work in our favor - I think the 'price' may be too steep for the Browns and we'll be able to trade up to the 2 spot

the Browns may like R.G.III but they are not willing to give up as much as we are willing to make the deal
