Guess he took the DC job at UCLA. I wonder who will coach our backers next year?

That's silly. They all understand roles... but it also means that all understand big picture concepts. I'd be good with either one... both will demand intense game play, and both have the cred to do so... You can see a move towards a high energy, very aggressive defense, with an attention to detail.jmooney wrote:Reportedly the Skins are looking at Singletary and Manusky as replacements. I like both guys, however, Im concerned about the Singletary option.
That would make 3 former head coaches on defense. An aweful lot of cooks to be in one kitchen. Considering the Morris hire earlier.
Hard to compete with DC at a major D1 school... Dude wants to be a head coach... needs to do this.jmooney wrote:oh, and to be more on topic.....
I liked the job that Spanos had done. How did Snider and Allen not manage to make the pot sweet enough to keep him here?
Hell yeah... Linebackers should be feared.jmooney wrote:Kinda makes you wonder countertrey. I think the quick hire of Morris was more to evaluate secondary talent in the Senior bowl. Im not saying they would go there with a first round pick but....
As far as the LB coaches go. Ive thought for quite a while that we lacked that mean streak on D. Other than Landry, these guys come acrossed as choir boys. Im not saying we dont have really good backers but, they aren't scaring anyone. Either of these coaches would bring a new mentality to the position. LB's are supposed to be mean.... right?
So... do you think he runs a 3-4 at UCLA? Not many D1 schools do. its about time that theres a pure 3-4 pipeline to the NFL. I still think he could have moved up to DC here, eventually. A few teams reportedly had interest in Has. as a head coach this year. Next year when this D comes to its full potential, the list will be longer.Countertrey wrote:Hard to compete with DC at a major D1 school... That's a tough call... I have no idea what he has in the pipeline for D-line and LB talent... a lot harder to turn-over a defensive scheme in D-1 than in pros... you can't use FA to help stock talent... But, a major player in D-1 running a 3-4 would convert a lot of players to the pros... and would drive the other teams nuts.jmooney wrote:So... do you think he runs a 3-4 at UCLA?
