Carl Nicks OG (Saints)
Alshon Jeffrey WR (SC)
Tannenhill, Tyler Wilson, Brandon Weeden QB - Draft
That should be a good start.

I like where your head is at. Throw a C in in the 3rd round and we're looking good.

While I do agree w u Kaz, its interesting mumbo jumbo.. Of course we all know we don't have any megatrons @ wr and most average men are bigger then our "return specialist".... So getting bigger faster and stronger is kinda a given for us and any team really.
Saying this is the biggest offseason/ draft in for however long and will be for the next ten years is fairly accurate however. Also kinda an aw snap moment finding out how many "small" guys we got on the squad.
Not ground shaking reporting but like I said it quenched my daily skins news thirst w nothing new on the hogs home page... So I shared it

WR is severely overlooked as a position of need on this team every year, how many good teams are there that don't have a big time receiver? Somebody who's fast and can win jump balls.

Just sayin Killers, but that part about it being the most important draft.... did not come from the lady writing the article. It was a quote from Theismann. Just making sure she doesn't get genius credit where it is not due.

Totally agree, that is why I would not mind drafting Blackmon or Jeffrey 1st and signing Flynn and/or drafting a QB in the 2nd round.

I know everyone keeps talking about Blackmon like he is 6'4", but he is listed at 6'1" so he is probably 6' foot even.
Now that certainly isn't a big WR, but my question is does he play like he is a big WR?

Blackmon is every bit of 6'1", is build like a truck, and plays big. Watch some tape on him if you get the chance. He will demand double teams in the NFL.

Mike Shanahan: "We've got to get a wide receiver that's a playmaker. You've got to have a No. 1, no question about it. We've got [Santana] Moss, and [Jabar] Gaffney, who's going to be right at 1,000 yards. But you're still looking for a guy that can go the distance and make plays, running on a short shallow cross and go the distance. Everybody's looking for that."
Later in the interview, the topic of rookie wide receiver Leonard Hankerson came up. Hankerson missed the final seven weeks of the season with a hip injury, but Shanahan's eyes got big when he talked about him.
MS: "I think he's got a chance to be the guy. Health is what we don't know. He's got the hip. But we're hoping he's going to be that guy. You can see in practice where he's a natural. Big. The thing that separates guys at No. 1 is when they can beat bump coverage and they don't have to slow down to beat it. They're able to keep their speed and be able to get by somebody. He's got that."

You know this is completely bogus, right?
I'm not gonna say this was a great article (haven't even read it yet) or that I agree with her or anything like that but the girl grew up immersed in all sports as the daughter of a renown sports writer, Dan Jenkins, in Forth Worth. I am literally sitting here right now talking with a former SI colleague of Sally Jenkins. Yeah, I know, SI hates the Skins too. Irrelevant. A few years back she (Jenkins) researched for a year in writing the book
The Real All-Americans, about the Carlisle Indian School, the school and "
Team that Changed a Game, a People, a Nation."
I posit that SJ knows a little more than zero about football.

The name Theisman, and the word "genius" should never be used in the same sentences... Theisman, himself, tacitly acknowledges this when he said:
"Nobody in football should be called a genius. A genius is a guy like Norman Einstein."
yeah... while he may have a point, I'm not sure that he has any greater knowledge than Sally Jenkins whom, despite DM's admiration, rarely risks opining beyond the obvious... and invariably disparages the home NFL team.
ummmm... not so much...
And, DM, I would posit that a writer suggesting to the master of the ZBS that he needs bigger offensive linemen is... a tad arrogant. I suggest that there are few who know more about "what they need" than Mike S. If it was just about size, Derrick Dockery would still be here... and starting.

I don't give a rip what her credentials are. I am going by the content of her articles before I stopped reading them. I concede it's possible it only appeared that she had no idea what she was talking about because she couldn't be objective about the Redskins because of her blind hatred of the team. But if you want an article that does nothing but crap on the team without any constructive content, then she's your girl...

Just read the whole article. Seems pretty straight-forward and fact laden. Seems to echo what I often read on THN.
If anyone is exhibiting blind hatred here it appears to be you for her. Where exactly in this article did her content indicate zero knowledge of football thereby making you stop reading?
Maybe you're just trying to be funny.

To me she is a creature that lives under a bridge nd only comes out when she has a hate filled article to post.
Yes, she is a troll. She publishes he hate mongering only to get a response. Of she trotsky hated the team she would write stuff ask of the time bashing the team, like J Reid does.
Actually, JReid hates MS, not the team.

I am trying to be funny. But I did say it was based on her prior work, not this article. I said, I didn't read this one. But I read enough of them before I stopped. I don't read Wise either, who's not. And I rarely read Boswell who doesn't hate the team, but who gets a nasty PMS once a month.

There's enough stuff to read - not all of it good OR even well written
I used to read articles by a lot of people that I no longer look at
Jenkins is one of a few that has an attitude about this franchise - this will not change no matter what
good reporters 'report' - there are many that twist facts to suit their agenda - she's not a reporter, she's a bitch
