Guys....VERY IMPRESSED with Royster and Helu is a bonifide BUSTER.

They're a lock for 1 & 2 for next year.

Right now, I'm partial to Helu cuz we've seen more of his game. BUT, this Royster guy is a STUD too.

Nice draft picks from our coaches a FO.

One of the things that was said about Royster in the preseason was he read the stretch play blocking better than all of the backs.

Helu will continue to be the starter because of his speed and he will continue to get batter at reading the blocks.

There will be times when Royster may be the leading rusher in a game, because Shanny said that he likes to go with the hot hand and there will be games where Royster can run because he finds those holes.

I was kind of shocked when Torain showed up today. Kind of forgot he was on the team!!

Royster played himself onto the roster for sure. At least, that's what I think.

Royster more than likely played Torain off the roster if anything, considering Hightower should be healthy next year, combined with Helu and Royster there just isn't a spot for Torain.

I think if Royster comes back with the same type of showing as Satuarday, he may go into the off-season as the starter. Helu has the speed but Royster has the vision and looks like he can handle 20-25 carries per game. Helu and Hightower would be perfect backs to spell him. Torain was ineffective in that role against the Vikings.

I doubt we see Torain again...

We may have seen the last of either Helu or Royster. They may be trade bait for the QB of the future. Mike Shanahan traded Clinton Portis to get Champ Bailey. He'll just get another back in the 4th round of the draft.

While I would allow people to be "right"...........I think you're wrong on this assessment. Helu and Royster stays right here with the Skins.

Hightower and terrain are the bait of anybring.... We keep the bigtime rooks. If not smh helu/Roy = tornado and torpedo... F lightning and thunder... Who?

Could be a great combination for years, since both are young...Not sure how Hightower is going to work, maybe a third down back, since he is really good at blocking...

I dunno Tribe, you might be too quick to call SRO wrong. Shanny clearly has a history of trading his successful backs. Let's say the Rams get the 1st pick. Steven Jackson is getting old. Helu could be looked upon as a good back up and successor and thus asked to be included in a trade for either the #1 pick or Bradford. Of course, we are talking about probabilities here - and not knowing where Shanny is going, but with Shanny having to like Luck and knowing that he likes Bradford, I would put the probability at the 70% that Helu could be included in such a deal.

If the Colts have the #1 pick, they don't have a stud back, so Helu could be part of such a deal.

Recap:

1. Shanny trades running back even ones who have gotten 1,000 yards
2. Both Rams and Colts can use a young proven back
3. Shanny doesn't want to trade draft picks unless he has to (players can lessen the amount of draft picks needed.
4. Grossman has shown that we NEED a high caliber QB
5. QBs like luck only come around once and a while.

I don't see any reason to have Hightower on the team next season. Aside from that the fact that he isvaverage at best, he's coming off of a serious knee injury. Cut bait with Hightower, keep Helu and Royster, and try to find a speedy change of pace back that can bust some long runs.

A MIRACLE It would be! I am not counting on it because, Shanny knows when a deal costs too much and we don't have a lot to give. I think if it dosn't happen, it will come out that he tried and I wouldn't be surprised if Helu's name came up.

I think other franchises would love to get our future draft picks
that would mean we're most likely drafting in the top 10 in 2013 and maybe even the top 5

A healthy Hightower would be the third back, again that's if Royster proves to be a 20-25 touches a game back. Helu would be the speedy change of pace back, and has shown that he's not a every down back. Hightower knows the system, is good in pass protection, and would come cheap.

With all the holes that still needs to be filled, why create another one?

If he's not healthy than they will have to go in another direction.

I was thinking the exact same thing when I was watching the game and Torain came in!

Hightower signed a 1 year $1.2M deal. I don't think he is re-signed here. Helu is fast, but I think what Caneskins means by change of pace back is someone who is shiftier like a Darren Sproles although I can't recall a guy like that used by Shanahan.

Hightower's contract came with him in the trade and you're right he'll be a FA this off-season. Coming off a knee injury will make him a bargin, plus he wants to be here, will give the team a hometown discount, he knows the system and is reportedly ahead of schedule in his rehab.

"Shanahan praised Evan Royster’s production and said between Helu, Royster and Tim Hightower, the Redskins have great depth at running back."

Denver had great depth at running back... and Portis was traded for a shut down corner.

Shanahan builds running backs... and won't hesitate to use them to obtain talent at other positions.
