What Team Really Teased Their Fans to Open the Season?

Redskins fans have argued about what is wrong with the Skins this season. We started 3-1 and then went into a tailspin. Fans have said that the Skins have teased us, but what is happened to the Skins is not isolated.

Take a look at the Bills. Are they the biggest teasers?

Three weeks ago the Buffalo Bills were 5-2, and their two losses were by a field goal apiece, both against teams with winning records. A whole lot has changed since then.

Today the Bills were blown out by the Dolphins, for their third straight lopsided loss. They’re now 5-5, and they’ve been outscored by 80 points over their last three games.

“We’re baffled as to what has happened,” Fitzpatrick said, via the Associated Press. “For the past three weeks, it has not been fun to play, and I’m sure it has not been fun to watch.”

I don’t know if I’ve ever been through that before, ever,” Gailey said. “When you’re that bad, you’re having a pitiful day.”

This is not a misery loves comfort thread, but if it is happening to the Bills and us - bottom dweller

Both teams were built in similar fashion this year with second tier players.

We have heard the reasons why the Skins have struggled this year, but a lot of those reasons don't apply to the Bills such as a weak O Coordinator.

Anybody have any reason why the Bills have gone into a tailspin? Perhaps without depth, injuries do make a difference and perhaps it takes a couple of years to build that depth.

Comparison of last two games:

Redskins 9 - Dolphins 20
Bills 8 - Dolphins 35

Redskins 24 - Cowboys 27
Bills 7 - Cowboys 44

You said it - injuries for one. O-line dropping like flies. WR out. Worse D than us.

Curtis Modkins has the title OC/Running Backs coach which means Chan Gailey is the OC in Buffalo. He has always been respected as an OC. Yet without the players his high octane O has grinded to a halt.

Which brings us to Kyle. Many folks have criticized him for play calling and some calling for him to be fired, but I think the Bills' situation shows us that there are more varibles than just the OC as to why an offense isn't working.

I think that we can learn a lot about the Skins as we watch the Bills go through a similar nose dive.

One reason why the Bills had more success with their second tier players than us is, they set up a system that fit the strengths of their players. The Shanahans are system oriented that means finding the right players to fit their system. It takes longer to build a team like that. Every miss with player for a position makes it take a little longer.

It will be interesting to watch how the Bills handle their adversity.

Some good points here. Shanny is TOO stubborn for my tastes.

I think Kyle is not too bad. I've seen him gamble late (especially last year) for a knockout when winning by decision would have been fine. But generally I see guys running around open which is a sign of good design and play calling.

I hope Griffin decides to play pro ball next year and that we grab him.

I hope he plays too. Did you see his toes? Pigeoned - not quite as evident, but nonetheless, pigeoned.

That has to have caught Mike's attention. :)
