Why would the skins waste their first round draft pick on a guy who "Is prone to getting beat deep"? We already have enough guys who get beat deep. We need a QB, Offensive lineman, and Wide receivers.

Yes. QB or OL. As long as we have a top 10 pick (which is realistic) anything else would be idiotic.

No way they take a corner. They get the QB they want, or trade down. I like Griff... but I don't believe he's top 10 talent. More likely, they try to trade back, pick up a pick, and still get him (you don't have anyone else listed as interested in him in the first round).

If we draft anything other than a QB or a OL with or first pick I think I will barf! How many defensive players can we continue to draft high and ignore the offense. Other than T Williams you have to go back to Samuals for us drafting an offensive player in the top half of the first round.
Our offense is too bad even consider anyone on the defense on the first two rounds. I would prefer a QB in the first and then an OG or RT in the 2nd.
If we used our first four picks on OL and a QB I would ecstatic!

I'm wondering what the odds of us going after Manning, if the the Colts do in fact get the 1st pick and take Luck. I wonder what we would have to give up. This is obviously a long ways off and probably total speculation, but if Manning does go on the block, I bet we at least kick the tires.

Will take multiple 1st round picks. Keep in mind he has a beast of a salary and more than anything now has a track record of neck injuries. Keep in mind his nickname as a kid was "Long Neck." Well that long neck is now his Achilles heel.

Probably right Frank. If they want multiple 1st rounders I wouldn't even pick up the phone. I desperately want a good young signal caller in hear. Man it seems like forever since we've had a good one.

Our last young QB was JCam. Before that was Pat Ramsey. We have to solidify the offensive line before we put a young QB in there or his career will end up very similar to the former guys. I'm not saying don't take a guy b/c the line isn't ready. I'm just saying don't play him. Don't want him shell shocked.

Good points Frank. That is why I hope if we do go QB first round we go O-line 2nd & 3rd round. A dominant OG would be nice. Possibly a C or RT with the other.

I think our Center is pretty good actually. The right side of the line though needs an upgrade in my opinion. WR might be needed and a CB would be nice.

Monty has been doing a decent job this year. He doesn't get enough of a push in the running game for my liking. Man I miss Jeff Bostic!

Luck is most likely out of reach so if we want an NFL ready qb we have to look at Jones or Barkley. If we have a top 10 pick, which we should, make a move to get one of these two guys.

Even though there is no such thing as a sure thing ... Luck seems to be as sure of a thing as anyone has seen in a very long time .... therefore, I would be inclined to go all in, and do whatever it takes to get him. We could use a little luck around cheer!
This year's 1, next year's 1, and a current roster player? Think that would be acceptable?

I don't know. I think the gods have ordained that Indianapolis is going to have nearly three decades of all-pro QB play. Not sure we're going to be able to bribe the Colts away from that number 1 pick.

If we don't get the number one pick we should hope St. Louis does. In that case, they'll either deal the pick or Sam Bradford. Whether or not we get one of those two, that scenario would shake up the QB situation. Essentially adding another QB into the mix with the draftees this year.

I don't know what's going on with Peyton Manning, but if he's not done Indy could be in a similar spot as well. Do you really dump Peyton Manning for an unproven? Of course if Manning is done then it's easy for them.

On a side note. Can a player win league MVP and not play a down that year? I mean, Manning has proven how valuable hree os to a team!
What n we saw when Brady went down was that the Pats are a pretty good team even w/o him. The Colts are a perennial 10+ win team w/Peyton. W/O him they are the worst team in the NFL.
Even if Peyton does try to come back, Indy would be a fool not to draft Luck.

depends on our true record
looks like we will be in the top 5 .... so luck might be there if we can trade up for him.
it could happen

Indy isn't in the same spot. Although Manning has a couple good years left, he is in the twilight of his career. It appears that Luck is the best QB coming out of college since Manning. I don't think Indy looks at this like it is a difficult decision. They can either draft Luck, sit him for a couple years -- like with Rodgers, making the transition much easier or they could draft Luck, and trade Manning for either a first (which is a reach, but there are teams that may do it -- see Carson Palmer) or second rounder. Either way, Indy would draft Luck -- STL is in a position were they would most likely trade the pick for 2 or 3 first rounders.
