Redskins claimed RB Tashard Choice off waivers from the Cowboys.

It's one of the best possible landing spots for Choice, and an indictment of Ryan Torain's minuscule production the past three weeks. Choice was having an abysmal year for the Cowboys before his release, averaging just 2.7 yards on 28 carries while battling a number of minor injuries, but could be in the mix for carries as early as this week depending on how he looks in practice. If you're a Torain or Roy Helu owner, there's little justification for not taking a flier.

This guy is another walking wounded who can't say healthy. Why would they claim somebody who is chronically injured and has a bad knee? They would have to cut somebody from the roster to make room for him.

Well we did just send a back to IR and Choice is very talented but can we open a hole for anyone ... ahem ... without bening over?

With the way our O-Line is playing he'll be damaged again very soon.  ](*,)

He may have a pass protection upside. I don't mind the pick-up.

The Redskins claimed former Cowboys running back Tashard Choice off of waivers on Monday. Here are a few quick thoughts on the move.

--There was talk this year that he was going to be a starter in Dallas but as it turned out head coach Jason Garrett wasn’t a particular fan of Choice and they drafted DeMarco Murray for the purpose of replacing him. Choice played very sparingly this year, getting 28 carries for 75 yards in six games.

--Redskins fans will mainly remember Choice for the last play of the first half of the 2010 season opener. That’s when DeAngelo Hall stripped Choice of the ball and returned it for the Redskins only touchdown of the game in Washington’s 13-7 victory. Choice has fumbled twice this year.

--The Redskins have little to lose by claiming him. He is in the last year of his rookie contract and is making the league minimum. Choice will be a free agent after this year.

--Clearly, the Redskins do not think that rookie Evan Royster is worth brining up from the practice squad. He needs the rest of the this year for more seasoning and then we’ll see what he can do next year in camp.

--The Redskins have to make a move to waive a player to make room for Choice on the roster. It is possible that they will cut cornerback Brandyn Thompson and put him back on the practice squad if they believe their defensive backfield is healthy. They will have to do something quickly, however.

I like it, even though him and Torain may not be rugged enough. Helu will eventually be the answer.

Choice isn't a special back and even if he was he was Barry Sanders it wouldn't make a difference with the Skins pathetic OL.

The reason they really got this guy was to pick up on the new audibles Tony Romo might be using to simulate the snap count. They get the information and then cut him.

seems like a move made just to glean some info on the cowboys offense. Divisional rivals always pick up scraps for that purpose.

Not when they have a full roster. Shanahan sees something he likes...

I still don't get it.
