Lets fix this...

i have been through all the stages... denial, bargaining, anger, etc... and finally acceptance. and the one thing we have going for us is that the other 3 teams are actually competing now for the nfc east. we have to realize that we are not! the cowboys, eagles, and giants are all "win now"... with qbs romo, vick, and manning in their prime. the good news is that none of them have a qb "waiting in the wings" to take over. THIS is the time to rebuild. we need to be ready 3/4 years from now as these teams are struggling to find their next qb and are in rebuilding mode themselves. why should we try to compete with them now. they have coaches, and veteran qbs, and schemes that have worked. we are inferior. better to build an army and take over when they are weak. not try to take over while they are strong. build through the draft. our last draft was a step in the right direction. lots of picks. grab a qb of the future an try to do what the pats did... be dominant as others are trying to find their way. they struck while the bills, dolphins, and jets were lost. the steelers did the same while the ravens, bengals, and browns were toast. i have a 2 1/2 year old son and 1 month old daughter. if 5 years from now... we are the team to beat and the giants, cowboys, and eagles are in disaray... then we did it right. just my 2 cents.

I agree with this in the fact that we should be taking our time and doing this the right way. Building a team of young, hungry players so that we can compete for YEARS and have MAJOR depth. Not one year in the playoffs here or there and calling it a success, but a decade or more of just thumping teams. Those that are after the coaches etc., I think are barking up the wrong tree. We don't have the players yet. Give this front office more time, and I think things are going to work out for this team.

i just feel that the ONE thing in our favor is that the other 3 teams in our division are all "win now". we NEED to use this to our advantage. there are NO rebuilding teams in our division. football is cyclical. be great... then rebuild. the team that can be dominant while 3 other teams rebuild can rule for awhile. i just hope that can be us.

I think the TIMING is good for this to happen, just not sold on the idea of planning for a run just because in 5 years it looks as if these teams will be scrambling. I think you rebuild the right way and you plan to dominate the division with a sound football team regardless of where the other teams in the division are. Quite honestly, it's going to take a lot to dismantle what the Giants and Eagles have going, although I think this years moves to the Eagles, if they don't pay off could be a major blow to that franchise. So even though it looks like their franchises will be fodder in 5 years, doesn't actually mean it's gonna happen. The Cowboys and Skins made some VERY bad front office decisions that they are paying for now, and it's going to take a while to build that back up...the right way

sorry dude... disagee with you. trying to determine when ur opponents might be weak is part of the chess match. look at the nfc west. 8-8 can win the division and steal a playoff berth. look at the cards a few years ago. and th seahawks last year. truth is... the giants, cowboys, and eagles are in no position to win 5 years from now. why not be ready? let them fight and claw to win now. when they are weak.. lets swoop in... win a few division titles and be off and running.

This team we have now is supposed to be filled with young, hungry players. What a joke. The effort was pathetic.

It's also filled with older players who shouldn't be on the roster. We need more youth and time to let the youth we have gain some experience. Effort was pretty bad as well

No one, with the exception of Fletcher, looked like they cared that they were even playing a football game yesterday.

It has finally been exposed that Shanahan too is much like Gibbs in terms of the game passing them by. I think that Kyle is in way over his head and I think that at this point no matter who coaches this team will stink. Yesterday for me was the final straw. I can't no longer root or be a fan of such a pathetic looking team. The offensive line coach needs to be fired. Haslett too is a sham. I mean because Hightower, Moss and

ey are out we can't even score a field goal? Kyle Shanahan is simply the worst play calling excuse for a OC I have ever seen. All I can do at this point is play Madden 12 and look at the Redskins game's of the Glory years because this is a sorry pathetic excuse for a team and Bruce Allen should be ashamed because his father is rolling over in his grave at that pathetic poor excuse for a team. London Fletcher should be a coach, he cared when no one else did. Too bad London didn't punch Kyle, Matt and his coach in the face. I now respect London Fletcher more than anyone.

Boy what a difference a few weeks makes. Seems like we are regressing instead of progressing. While I understand we have to build a team for me personally I am tired of hearing this 3 year 5 year build crap. Been hearing that for the better part of 20 years and I am sick of it. We need to start with a franchise quarterback who we can build this team around. This team has refused to do that. We have been loading up on defensive players the last few years and then pick substandard offensive players and hope we can pull a rabbit out of the hat.
Sorry for being direct and blunt but "we are gonna be good in five years" doesn't cut it for me. This is year two with Shanahan and we should be seeing some improvement but it looks like we are falling to old habits and norms which is win a few games here and lose a bunch here and clean out the locker at the end of the season and watch other teams in the playoff. Im mad!

Hey at least Gibbs got us to the playoff twice in four years and we even got a playoff win. Can't even say that about anybody else accept Norv Turner...pretty sad if you ask me.

Haha. Unless you are the skins. We have been "rebuilding" since 1993.
