Like the way they ARE doing things is working so much better? I have found over the years that the workers who get the most done are the ones who are most afraid of losing their jobs if they screw up even once. That mentality doesn't exist with thie team. Then we have very different life experiences, welch. The only two bosses I've ever truly respected to any degree are the two who scared the living crap out of me, that I'd be fired the moment I screwed something up. The only other means of motivating these guys is something that the NFLPA doesn't allow.... performance based fines for penalties, turnovers, dropped passes, blown coverages, etc....
I think it's a combination of all those factors along with a coaching staff that is utterly incompetent to the core. There is little talent on that roster, nobody who is a leader or who really wants to drag this team up with them, etc... The good Redskin coaches, in my lifetime, have immediately dropped players who lacked effort.
The same coaches demanded that players improve their skills. These coaches replaced harder-working but less-talented players only with harder-working more talented players.
Ownership selected the GM and coach, but otherwise let Lombardi, Allen, Gibbs, Beathard, and Casserly run the team.
My judgement is that the current team lacks talented players. It can get them if Snyder sticks with his GM and and head coach.

And then I've had bosses who you want to work for. They trust you to do a good job, and you want to live up to that trust. You're not looking just to survive; you're looking to excel.
There's a big difference between just surviving and excelling.

No you don't. No coach or GM worth his salt will tell anybody the team is in for a 3-4 year rebuilding mode. I agree with previous posters about: this team was by most accounts projected at 7-9 or 8-8 ; the injuries we have suffered are significant, and our talent level on offense is mediocre at best. If you're still trying to acquire the horses, then you come out and say.... "We're still rebuilding. Don't pay any attention to us for the next three years." I haven't heard anything on that order from the Owner, GM, or HC so I have to assume they believe that they're a playoff contender until I hear otherwise.

8-8 will be about 4-5 games better than this team finishes. As for the injury situation, I put that on two people.... Bruce Allen and DANIEL SNYDER.
