Oh For the Days....

Oh for the Glory Days..... Back when a game like todays, nevermind one like today's after last week's would mean that Dan Snyder would be firing people left and right this afternoon. So sad that those days are gone and we're doomed to at least another season and a half of these buffoons in the coaching staff and the general manager's office before there is a change.

This is the best coaching staff and front office since Shotty and you know what that got us. Sorry buddy but don't agree. Still trying to acquire the horses to make this thing work. If you expected more, it's on you for not being realistic. Also, Carolina has given every team a fit and nearly beat Green Bay. They are 100 x's better than their record and we are the opposite. Sorry

Isn't that damning with faint praise, frank? Shotty was a joke as well. He deserved to be fired after that first season, considering what happened.
If you're still trying to acquire the horses, then you come out and say.... "We're still rebuilding. Don't pay any attention to us for the next three years." I haven't heard anything on that order from the Owner, GM, or HC so I have to assume they believe that they're a playoff contender until I hear otherwise.

If we followed your strategy, RF, we'd never build a successful franchise. Never.

Like the way they ARE doing things is working so much better? I have found over the years that the workers who get the most done are the ones who are most afraid of losing their jobs if they screw up even once. That mentality doesn't exist with thie team. They don't care. They're getting paid, win or lose.

I've worked a long time, and found that the fear never motivates people. It's the reverse. Fear de-motivates people. It causes people to think first of how they can drop the blame on someone else, rather than how to solve a problem.

Then we have very different life experiences, welch. The only two bosses I've ever truly respected to any degree are the two who scared the living crap out of me, that I'd be fired the moment I screwed something up. I know quite a few others whose life experience is very similar.
The only other means of motivating these guys is something that the NFLPA doesn't allow.... performance based fines for penalties, turnovers, dropped passes, blown coverages, etc....

It probably helps to determine if the problem is lack of talent, of skill, of concentration, or of effort.
The good Redskin coaches, in my lifetime, have immediately dropped players who lacked effort.
The same coaches demanded that players improve their skills. These coaches replaced harder-working but less-talented players only with harder-working more talented players.
Ownership selected the GM and coach, but otherwise let Lombardi, Allen, Gibbs, Beathard, and Casserly run the team.
My judgement is that the current team lacks talented players. It can get them if Snyder sticks with his GM and and head coach.

I think it's a combination of all those factors along with a coaching staff that is utterly incompetent to the core. There is little talent on that roster, nobody who is a leader or who really wants to drag this team up with them, etc... The coaching staff is equally worthless, as is the General Manager.

Then honestly, I feel awful for you. I've had bosses like that, and all you ever want to do is survive. Take no risks, don't stand out, etc.
And then I've had bosses who you want to work for. They trust you to do a good job, and you want to live up to that trust. You're not looking just to survive; you're looking to excel.
There's a big difference between just surviving and excelling.

Pulp, I get the feeling we view work very differently. I work because I have bills to pay and need the $$$. Nothing more. If I could live my current (average to below average) lifestyle without working, I'd be gone in a second. I'm not here to excell. I'm here to do my job and collect my paycheck. I like to think I do my job well, but I don't worry about it the moment I walk out the door.

Hi Jeremy. This Podcast has been brought to you by Pods. They keep saying they are going to delete your accounts, but they don't.
I am curious what enjoyment you get out of going onto the fan site of a team you despise, saying you are a fan, and then despising them. I can't see getting any pleasure out of doing that much less the unending pleasure you do.
I have never signed onto a Cowboy or Eagle site, ever.

No you don't. No coach or GM worth his salt will tell anybody the team is in for a 3-4 year rebuilding mode. I agree with previous posters about: this team was by most accounts projected at 7-9 or 8-8 ; the injuries we have suffered are significant, and our talent level on offense is mediocre at best. We will get there. The overal talent level Shanny inherited was abysmal.

Life is not about fun or pleasure, Kazoo. It never has been. Life is about Right and Wrong. I've already commented several times on why I come here, why I used to go to ES, and a few other places.... It's a place to blow off the anger, disgust, and rage I feel at the last 20 years worth of garbage that this team has brought into my life without tossing Molotov Cocktails through the windows at Redskins Park. That's it. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Then there is no coach or GM out there that I would have any respect for.

8-8 will be about 4-5 games better than this team finishes. As for the injury situation, I put that on two people.... Bruce Allen and DANIEL SNYDER. Allen for not acquiring any level of depth and Snyder for continuing to vote against the best interests of his team in terms of renewing and extending CBA's that include a salary cap.

You're welcome; though with a little bit of reading comprehension you'd have already known that.

Trust me, if we were in Smack that would have been worded very differently, and nowhere near as politely, KSF.
