I wonder where all the people are that last year argued that McNabb wasn't done.

I will bet, not the house or anything really because I never do, that Donovan ends up next in Oakland., Carson Palmer notwithstanding.
I think that he will still play in this league.

regarding McNabb - It's true that THIS YEAR, McNabb is not the same player as he was LAST YEAR
LAST YEAR, McNabb did not make an effort to fit in with what Kyle & Mike needed or wanted
McNabb can still play QB BETTER than a lot of QBs that are presently playing
I would not be surprised to see him play QB effectively again

As for me, I thought he'd be better then this. Rather then trying to make a half hearted effort at arguing reasons or comparing him to other QB's who suck or ignoring I backed him, I'm conceding. He's been terrible.

It looked like he was trying until the coaching staff pointed out the same things the Shannies pointed out last year, now it looks like he has just stop trying.
I thought last year was because of the combined effect of DM coming to a new team, a new system for everyone, lack of a supporting cast and the fact that he had no weapons or protection. Six weeks in and he is worst than last year with a supporting cast, a running game, decent O-line, a system and coach he knows and he wore the wristband.
Now he's been replaced by a guy that Minny reached for and drafted too high the week the Vikes face the top team in the League. If he had anything left he'd be playing.
He's Done

don't get me wrong here - I agree that McNabb's not an effective starting QB ... now
I doubt he's finished playing QB
although, if he's really not making the effort, then I doubt anyone wants him

ESPN's Adam Schefter on Donovan McNabb: "There are ppl around the league who believe it's possible (he's) played his last down in the NFL."

You doubt he's finished playing QB and you doubt anyone wants him
As Vet would say (RIP) Get off the fence

McNabb wants to play but I doubt that anyone will give him a job even as a back up
McNabb is NOT a starting QB anymore - he can be a back up QB
McNabb is a better QB than many QBs still playing but he's going to have a hard time getting a job
btw - I used to love giving Vet fits over my "fence sitting" skills
what's a forum like this for

Donovan McNabb calls questions about his work ethic “crazy”
It didn’t take long for Donovan McNabb to deny the report that he was benched in Minnesota because he shows up late to practices and meetings.
NFL Network’s Kurt Warner says he reached out to McNabb to get a response to the report about McNabb’s work ethic from NFL Network’s Michael Lombardi. Unsurprisingly, McNabb claims he’s working plenty hard.
“As soon as I heard it I put a text in to Donovan,” Warner said. “Within five minutes, he didn’t text me back — he called me back and we talked, and he said, ‘That stuff’s crazy.’ He said he’s putting in his time. He says that he’s doing what the coaches ask him to do in every situation.”
But the problem might be that McNabb doesn’t realize how much time is expected of him. Or that the Vikings’ coaching staff doesn’tjust want a quarterback who does what they ask, they want a quarterback who takes the initiative to put in extra work without the coaches having to ask — which is what every good team leader on every good team does.
For his part, Lombardi insists that people who have seen McNabb up close are fed up with his laziness.
“Donovan hasn’t really been putting the time in,” Lombardi said. “I was told by people in the Viking organization: ‘He’s the last one in the building, he’s the first one gone, he’s not willing to put the time in, late for meetings, late for practice.’ So they just basically have thrown up their hands and said, ‘We need to move on, because ultimately that’s not what we want in a quarterback.’”
Given that three teams in the last year and a half have decided that McNabb is not what they want in a quarterback, there’s nothing crazy about questioning McNabb.
There is nothing said here that wasn't said when Donovan was with the Skins. It shows that the Shanahan's were right about Donovan, but also shows that Mike was so wrong about bringing Donovan to the Skins. There is nothing said here that wasn't rumored when he was with the Eagles. Instead of Andy Reid calling Donovan out TO did, but does anybody ever believe TO? Mike, did you bother to check out these rumors?
It is beyond doubt that Andy Reid cuddled Donovan and that lead to the success that the Eagles got with him. Great for Andy for jettisoning him when he did and get a lot back for him. Donovan clearly is nothing more than a system QB that can not succeed unless he is cuddled in the manner of Andy.
He still has the skills to continue to play. His numbers improved with each game with the Vikings, but he was benched for the same reasons he was sent packing from the Redskins - failure to want to improve his mechanics and poor leadership. Great for Mike to get some value for Donovan after exposing the truth about him. Great for Leslie because he didn't wait until the end of the season to bench him, but then again, for Leslie at 1-5, it very well may be the end of the season and he very well may be out, because the music has stopped and he is left holding the hot potatohead quarterback.
