49ers @ Redskins - Please help!

I am a longtime Redskins Fan, I've seen them play Live in San Francisco, San Diego and Arizona, but never in DC, until NOW!!!

I am flying into DC for the San Francisco 49ers game and was hoping you guys can help me out.

I plan on being a tourist for Friday, Saturday and Monday.

Questions are:

Whereabouts should I book my hotel room? I want to be close to the tourist attractions, the airport and FedEx Field, is that possible?

What airport should I fly into?

Does anyone have tickets for sale?

Thank you for your help!

HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!!!!

Glad to see you're willing to make a long trip to support the Skins. Unfortunately, both Dulles and Reagan National airports are in VA, but you can still take the Metro from there to get to the city to take in the sights. You also have the option of taking BWI in Baltimore but you'd have to take a cab or the lightrail to get to DC. FedEx is actually in Landover, MD but you can still get there via Metro. So wherever you touchdown at you're going to have to make a few trips to get where you want to go. You should research the hotels in the area and find one based on your own preferences (like how much money you want to spend). Sorry everything around here is so spread out. I should also warn you that the Metro system sucks. And you should also save your money because DC is expensive.

I would check prices at BWI, Dulles and Reagan. Normally it's cheaper going in at BWI and they have a free shuttle that takes you to the train station. It's costs about $10 to take the Marc train to Union Station and it's only about a half hour away. At Union you can take the Metro, which will take you anywhere in the city. The stadium is on the orange line, but it's really easy to get around. Make sure your hotel is near a Metro entrance and I would go to the DC Metro web page. They have a map of all the lines and the city.

Have fun,

SFLA - What's up SoCal buddy. I'm in Redondo Beach and have been to DC a ton of times. If you talk to folks in DC, like above, they think the metro sucks but you'll see, it's AWESOME!!!! There really isn't a need for a rental car. If you fly to Dulles, you can take a bus to the Rosalyn station and then pick up a train to take you to where you want to go. If you can find a good hotel rate in Rosalyn, I would suggest staying there. Close to everything. If you fly into JFK, there's a metro train stop right there to take you to where you're going to stay.

On gameday, you can take the metro right to the stadium. Actually it's about a mile walk and up-hill but I've done it many times w/ a 30 pack of coors light for tailgating back in the old days.

If you have time, I highly suggest you check out the air & space museum that's outside the city. In my opinion, it's the coolest of all the museums.

Ton's of good restaurants located right in fed square as well. Have a blast!!!

He's right, you can't go wrong with the Metro. I take it from Union to Arlington Courthouse everyday. It's no way I would drive up here, it's just to crazy! Parking is difficult. The Arlington area is very nice, nice little pubs and great places to eat. It's about 30-35 minutes from the stadium on the orange line.

I am actually coming up from NC for this game as well. I got my tickets on Stub Hub they seem pretty straight forward! Hope to see you there!

S/N - does anyone have any info about tailgating?

I'd fly into BWI and stay in Beltsville, Greenbelt, or College Park, MD. You'll save money and be close to a Metro.

Sounds like you may have found them here but I'd use craigslist. I always get a pair with parking for around $125 total.

So my lovely wife got us tickets to the game vs the 9ers this Sunday for our anniversary. (I knew I married the right girl!) I'm so glad that I get a chance to see the Skins live this season! My question was who else is going to the game? Since we're coming in from out of town, I was wondering if there were any tailgate parties happening?

Have beer... will travel.

I've been to the air and space museum, very cool! Spent hours in there and still didn't see everything.

Right behind the goal posts in the 1st row of the upper deck. They are terrific seats. That's $125 total for 2 tickets and green parking.

Fur, good club in most of the nights. Don't park around there though, that's Sorsum Cordas area, probably best to take a cab both ways.

Bars EVERYWHERE for the games, depends on exactly where your located.

Tailgate parties.. Bro, just walk through the lot and tell someone that your a Skins fan from outta town and you can tailgate everywhere. I'll be there in the Green Lot area somewhere, never sure where though.
