No reason to hang our heads in Dallas

Yeah, it was a heartbreaker. Hate losing to Dallas anytime, but please, the woe is me ers are clueless.
Yeah, their O isn't overall good but they do have weapons and aren't exactly anemic and their D actually is good. Like ours they had a bad year last year, but like ours had a lot of talent and improved a lot this year. Yeah it was 6 field goals, but we didn't give up a TD.
We're 2-1 including beating the Giants and we lost to a division opponent on the road at the end of the game. The path from bad to good goes through mediocrity and we're better then mediocre.
Grossman still sucks and our O line still can't create running lanes, yet our O is better then last year. We really gotta give Beck a shot.
Am I happy with the game? No. But the constipated ones are just morons who want to be in misery. There is no insight in what they are doing.

Man, first you want to chastise the "wo is me'ers" for being down and then you want to replace the starting QB who is 2-1 so far. Make up your mind. You gotta stay wiht Rex until we at least have a losing record.

Agreed, stay with Grossman. I don't want to see QB jumping from us at all this year, unless we are out of the playoffs officially. I still think they have a good plan, we all just need to be patient. I'm over the dalass lost and the way we played even if we had won, I'd be over that win too because of how we played.
Looking ahead to the Rams, we need to correct the dumb things like penalties and turnovers. Protect the ball on offense, Rex just throw it away, there's no need to try to be a hero. A real hero is having another chance to make another play. Hopefully with Cooley back we still utilize Davis and give defenses a real hard time on coverage. The Rams defense is just horrible, hopefully we can mix up the play calling.
On defense, hellloooo, McFlyyyyyy (haslett).. common sense play calling isn't always a bad thing.

Put our DBs in better positions to make plays and give them help. DBs, make plays.. D. Hall, MAKE PLAYS! When D. Hall makes plays, we usually win. I love how our defense is playing and with Landry back its gonna only get better.

Riggo said that Haslett must think of DHall as one of the elite corners in this league and that's probably why he left him on an island on that 3rd and 21 play. Hall gets paid like an elite corner but doesn't perform like one.

I don't know about anyone else, but I was intrigued at the modified 3 tight end set the Redskins went with a few times in the first half. Using Cooley as the H back in what otherwise is just a two tight end formation lends itself to all kinds of interesting run, pass and play action options. I'd like to see them utilize this some more moving forward. It could create some interesting miss matches for the opposing D.

I am not a woe is me guy, but I will admit I was pissed after that game. I Just get frustrated that we seem to always miss or get a fg blocked that ends up costing us a game. Oh, and the 3rd and 21.... dont get me started.
I also know we are not going to be instantly a great team and that we are making progress, but god I wish we had a little killer instinct to rip a teams heart out and not let teams hang around. That was a game we should and could have won. But alas... Bring on the Rams!

You or anyone else think playing against their old team will help us any with Haslet and Atogwe?

NOPE. Right now I have no faith in anyone on that roster on in that coaching staff.

Yes, so far we are 2-1. However, the problem is that it is the same old turnover machine Rex Grossman that we are saying. Depending on how he plays against the Rams I think that the Shanahans have to seriously consider benching Rex after the bye week.
I posted the following in another thread:
Right now he is on pace to turn the ball over 26 times this season. Only Eli Manning had more than 26 turnovers as a qb last season, by comparison.
Rex has started 6 games as a Redskin and has not made it through a single start without turning the ball over at least once. In four of those games he's had two or more turnovers. We aren't going to win games against good teams if he keeps turning the ball over at this pace.
The two games in which Rex has had only one turnover we are 2-0. In the games that he's had two or more turnovers, we are 1-3.
The numbers don't lie. When Rex turns the ball over multiple times (like with most qb's) we lose. And so far this year he is continuing his career-long trend of multiple turnovers.

I think it will hurt us more than help us. Bradford may just pick us apart. We have awful corners. Hopefully we can get to him early and often.

Their oline is pretty terrible so that should help. On the other hand, it looks like they are going to have Steven Jackson back fully for this game.

Let's see. You always have hated the Redskins and everything about them. Now you hate the Redskins and everything about them. You want to tank the season to get Luck. It's always nice to get the informed opinion of an open minded and knowledgeable Redskin fan...

Grossman is still Grossman. He's a backup, not a starter. I'd like to see if Beck can actually be good or not. If not, we can always go back to Grossman. He'll still be there playing the same game that should be coming off the bench, not starting. I'd like to focus this year on testing out our mettle. Grossman is just a known, mediocre quantity.

Kaz, we are 2-1 not 0-3. You can give RF all the crap in the world about having no faith but calling for Beck to step in at this point shows me you are lacking faith as well.

Grossman isn't a good quarterback. We aren't winning because of him but the one loss certainly would have been avoided with even competent quarterbacking.
To say we can't change anything or I have "no faith" is just silly. And to even compare that we should change one thing with Mr. Jeremy "RF" Pods is just as silly. You should argue Grossman's virtue over Beck rather then arguing that if I want to change one thing, OMG, it's suck for Luck.

Yup...2 block FGs in the past 3 games. At dallas, what was it? Someone tell me cuz it was not obvious:
1. was it a bad snap
2. did holder muff the ball
3. did big boy Sellers forget to block the edge
I saw the guy swim past Sellers and come in for the block....tsk tsk tsk

Look, I wouldn't mind seeing what Beck has either but I am not willing to give up on Grossman yet. I know he isn't that good but do you know who could be potentially way worse? Beck.

I'm sorry, no NFL db could have sted that pass. Once, Bryant got to on side of Hall and Romo recognized that all he had to do was throw a half way decent pass to that side.
I initially didn't see that Bryant was running a stop pattern to pick up some of the 21 yards, but when Romo saw that the Skins were in cover zero he signaled to Bryant to go deep.
Once, Romo sent Bryant deep Hall was toast and ANY db would have been toast.

I wouldn't say I'm giving up on Grossman so much as I think we already know who he is. A very good backup (compared to other backups) or a mediocre to poor inconsistent starter (compared to other starters). He's going to be the same six games from now whether he plays the next six games or not.
As for Beck, I totally agree with you. He's a gamble. I'd rather take gambles this year though because I do believe we're on the right track and I'd like to know as we get better rather then find out then. I do not think Grossman is our long term answer. I question if Beck is. I'd like to find out now though while we're turning it around rather then later when we could actually be good and get sick of Grossman swapping good games for bad ones and good plays for bad ones. Grossman does not have an NFL arm and he makes flat out bone head plays and he's a fumble waiting to happen.

We're 2-1 right now. Whoever Mike Shanahan thinks gives us the best chance of winning games is who I'm supporting at QB. Three games into the season we're supposed to plug Beck in "just to see what we've got"?? Give me a freaking break.
The truth is if freaking Sav Rocca doesn't flub that snap or we don't let Romo convert a 3d down and 21, nobody is talking about Grossman this week to begin with.

Dude, this is a MESSAGE BOARD. Of course I would never overrule Shannahan and start Beck. But we're here to discuss the Redskins. Arguing for things we'd like to see and saying oh, Shannahan is stupid for not doing it are completely different discussions. I am following the former.

Give me a freaking break. Argue my full position, not just one statement from it.

Wrong, I would be and I'm "somebody." Regarding that we're 2-1, I'm clearly not arguing the sky is falling. Did you note who started this thread and read the first post? That says wow, we're 2-1 not 3-0, it's over. Please. Give me a freaking break.

^ This is the truth right here. We'd have been in the lead and Grossman wouldn't have had to attempt any heroics.
We won a couple of convincing games, and now we're being knocked harshly back to reality. The team is getting better, but it's not THAT good yet.
On the plus side, we have a legit 2nd receiver for once. Gaffney and Moss both caught 5 passes each. It's no longer just the Moss/Cooley show. (Cooley also caught 4)
