Why the Skins get the playoffs Re:where expectations lye

So Tuna and the Cowboys make the first round of the playoffs. So why cant Gibbs? The Cowboys had little to no change in roaster when Tuna picked the boys up, he simply told them who was boss. I am seeing a number of methotical changes happening for the skins, as if Gibb's is building what he feels will win in the NFL. And why not, he knows what it takes, so why should we think the Skins cant make the playoffs. I think we look better then the Cowboys right now. I think we have a better coaching staff then anyone in the NFC East. I know it has been to long since we have seen sun light in the shape of the playoffs but lets just say we can for once and not lets see...

All in all, the Skins will put more talent on the field than the Cowboys for sure. I really think they did last year as well; however, with the difference in coaching (Spurrier sucking and Parcells doing a pretty good job), it was easy to see which team came to play week in and week out.
With Gibbs & Co. in town, one of the things I am looking forward to the most is seeing this talent "on paper" transcend to talent "on the field".
I have no doubt that Gibbs & Co. will bring the best out of these players and I, for one, am looking forward to it with very much excitement!

I agree. We have a much better team physically than the Cowboys. Plus Gibbs and his staff can make a something out of nothing.

I dont know about you guys but i am ready for the season to start tommorow. I hate the fact that i have to wait during crappy baseball season for the 'skins and pro football to come back on. And, this arena football isnt doing the trick. I guess i'll have to keep up with gibran hamden in the nfl europe.

How is Gibran doing? Any chance of the Skins bringin'him back? I mean, my autographed trucker hat needs to rise in value, and Gibby in NFL Europe isn't helping.

So we clearly have more talent, excuse me, "physical" talent?
Let's compare the starters on defense - since that is what wins championships:
DE:
Cowboys: G. Ellis, M. Wiley
'Skins: Daniels/Wynn, Upshaw
Advantage: Cowboys, our DE's (including Daniels) suck
DT:
Cowboys: L. Glover, W. Blade
'Skins: Griffin, <insert random scrub here>
Advantage: Cowboys, they let noble go, so if he's still our answer, we're in trouble. We have one of the worst DL's in the league (maybe THE worst).
LB:
Cowboys: D. Nguyen, D. Coakley, A. Singleton
'Skins: Lavar, M. Washington, K.Mitchell
Advantage: A toss up. Their mlb is better, our OLB might, emphasize on "might", be better.
Safeties:
Cowboys: Woodson & Williams
'Skins: Iffy and Bowen
Advantage: Cowboys, not even close.
CB:
Cowboys: Newman & P. Hunter
'Skins: Springs & Smoot
Advantage: Cowboys the slight edge. Our depth helps, but T. Newman is better than any of our corners and Springs will be lucky to play 8 games.
So tell me again how we have better talent?
Also don't forget that the cowboys have a FULL draft ahead of them.

If you read my post correctly, you would have read that I said the Redskins will put more talent on "the field"...not on the "defensive side of the ball."
I agree that the Cowboys have more talent on defense. My point was, looking at the entire team...the Redskins have more talent than the Cowboys.

Also the Cowboys have not made a bunch of whole sale changes which mean COHESION is alot better. The guy to his right knows what the guy to his right and left are doing. NOT GUESSING what they are doing. Also the defensive system has been inplace for awhile now.

As Joe will say during Dallas week: "they're just a better football team - we probably won't gain a yard in total offense".

As much as I hate the pukes, I don't see how any of us can say that we are more talented as a team. We'll need to prove that on the field for me to buy that claim.

Fine then...I only compared defenses bc defense gets you to the playoffs.
On offense we might have the slight upperhand at QB and RB(granted, a large edge at rb), but they have better TE's and an offensive line that is as about as good as ours and has better depth. I think the wr's are a wash (unless Darkarian becomes he next monk).
Plus, add on the fact that they have a all their draft picks and parcells has proven to be a tremendous judge of draft talent - the same can not be said of Cerrato and (sorry for this but it is true) Gibbs. you can gurantee that Dallas adds at least 2 more quality starters in the draft, probably 3 or 4.
I think that the best we can hope for is a year along similar lines to the cowboys last year(wild card, out in 1st rnd).
I just think it is totally unrealistic to think that our talent is better than theirs...especially when we are one of the 5 worst teams in the NFL at the most important position (DL).
