Trent Williams

I'm starting to get worried about Trent. He looks awful today both run blocking and pass blocking. Jason Pierre-Paul is eating his lunch. Hopefully it's just today...but he wasn't great in the preaseason either...

Agree very worrying. Another week of this and they better consider benching him.

i'm of the same opinion. he's supposed to be quick on his feet and athletic. that combo should thrive in ZBS, but doesn't seem to be working...

I also agree.. He seems to get exposed ALOT.. I saw him get ho's ankles broke on a couple occasions! Hoping he watches alot of tape and spends extra time on the practice field this week

Yeah, too bad he doesn't have an e-mail address, then he might have been at the offseason workouts.

His reputation is looking true. Looks like a guy that doesn't work hard and prepare like a professional. He got worked.

This Shanahan family doesn't seem to tolerate lazy players. I wonder how Devon Thomas likes returning kicks for the Giants?

Come to think of it, wasn't there some giant DT who refused to play NT? What was that guy's name??? Gone without a trace or a sound?

agreed as well. I wonder, if his poor play continues, if there could be the possibility of he and Jamaal switching sides.

He'll get it worked out. Shanny said he's one of the most talented lineman he's ever worked with.

Jamaal wasn't much better today.

Give him time.

Trent didn't look too good, but he will get better as he plays more. Also, Pierre-Paul was a 1st round pick, so he could be the real deal.

Trent had a hard time stopping PP last year too. He might just be a bad match up for TW.

That said Trent needs to play better.

The Silverback looked more like a chumpanzee on Sunday.

He has to get better or our QB will get killed. The OL was sporadic at best yesterday - about what i expected to see before the season started, but less than I had hoped to see after seeing signs of great improvement in the preseason.

If TW plays like that for a couple more weeks, he's going to have to sit down. He was a liability.

Having said that, he's also just a young buck. He can bounce back.

Early in the game I was thinking Rex will never make it to the end. The line as a whole needs to get better.

Trent needs a kick in the @#$. He has tons of ability, he just needs the proper motovation.

I would hope to see a huge improvement agaist the Cards.

I also think we let him go one-on-one mostly with little or no help. How many sacks did he allow? Hurries?

Williams will have caught a lot of flak for what we saw yesterday - his game will be elevated, and soon
NOT that there's a lot of choice at LT

He has been making good progress and we need him to step it up BIG TIME

I'm sorry I don't really believe in Williams. He was drafted too high after being rated by many pundits as a questionable talent. I use the word "talent" here because I see a lack of talent, not a lack of motivation. I'm still waiting for the evidence that he can pancake anyone. He's soft and overweight.

I'm on the other side of this. Most experts agree Williams had and still has loads of talent. His real issue is attitude/character.

Devin is just lucky to have a job...... he'll be gone ala Malcolm Kelly

There was a former NT that only had 2 tackles and no sacke. Chris Neild came off the bench and had two sacks. A definite upgrade. Cutting DT likewise an upgrade.

Our O line looked anemic at best at times. TW needs to step it up - he was playing like a rookie getting sucked in with head moves. Granted the G has a good line - but so do we. It just needs to show up.

My concern is that we don't have great O line depth.

I agree. We have little OL depth. I imagine this is one of Shanny's big concerns.

What bothers me most amount TW is that we drafted him in the top 10 despite one of his college coaches questioning his work ethic.
