Of all the players in this scenario, how is it Portis for whom you lost respect? Unless you already had 0 for each of Snyder and Vinnie. Jesus Christ, what a sh*& show! Portis must have been given the express indication that he could take his complaints straight to DS year prior to this event. I don't blame Portis for exhausting all recourse to right a wrong IN HIS MIND. Yeah, he was in the wrong, no doubt. But the enabling by DS to even allow Portis' to believe he could act that way is what shocks me. This in a nutshell WAS the problem. Certain players had a direct line to the owner who catered to them instead of supporting his coach. The players morphed into spoiled brats, and the coach into an ineffective figurehead. I place this disfunctionality squarely on the Danny and his enabler. the Vinny for allowing this player behavior. Exactly! But it's more than just Portis having a direct line to the Danny. It's his attitude that he can defy the coach and have his hands in his pockets during a practice drill. Then, to have his agent contact the team demanding a coaching change? Then, to demand an apology from Zorn for daring to ask him to take them out?
