David Garrard to be Cut

David Garrard will be cut in Jville. I wonder if Kyle's exposure to DG in the AFC South will make him a possible player to come to DC. I would def put in a call to his agent to see what kind of money he's looking for.

But then we would have to part way with one of our 8 WR's. I don't know, the thought crossed my mind too but is he really any better than Rex? I am hopeful that Rex has a little Rich Gannon in him - right coach, right system, right level of maturity to become a good QB for a couple years.

Not sure. The one thing that the coaches said they liked about Beck was his mobility and zip on throw. Two things that Garrard has.

Not saying he's an answer but wanted to throw the topic out there to see what the feedback would be.

I'm fine with what we've got and where we're at ...

We're not looking to fine tune an offense here:
- we're still trying to get a decent offensive line and some decent back-ups
- we're a work in progress across the board offensively
- we are hopefully going to bring in a future great QB and then we have to get him ready to play
- we have Grossman and Mike seems to like what Beck offers him

Why complicate things?

I'm not sure it would complicate things. I do think that Garrard is a capable QB who could help a team win. I don't think we're ready to go to the pinnacle but I do think he could help us win for a few years while we do find that QB. I think that Rex is a bit of a liability and Beck is an unknown.

I hear you frank - initially I thought why not add Garrard - BUT ... who do we let go

I don't think that at this stage we need another OK QB

Wow, when I heard about this I was shocked. 5 days before their first game and they go and do something like this. Garrard may not be a franchise QB but right now he the best option for them to win right now.

This thing about Garrard had me thinking and I wanted to ask y'all what you think of this. On one hand you have a player that holds out and wants more money, you have that team saying well he has to honor his contract and then on the other hand you have a player under contract and the team just decides oh lets cut this guy. What's wrong with this picture?
