Old Friend Derrick Dockery

In his prime Dockery was a road grader. He is a super strong power blocker who has 111 starts in his pro career. The Bills made him one of the highest paid guards ever in 2007 and despite the fact he played at approximately the same level he did in Washington they released him. The Redskins re-signed him and again, despite the fact that he played as well as he ever did, he just didn't fit the ZBS.
Dock just had a try out with the Ravens but they signed Jason Murphy instead. That's gotta be a near career ender for Dock. He was passed up for a fringe player who has never even appeared in an NFL game. I always liked Dockery, I think he's a class act who goes out, does his job and doesn't complain. At 29 it seems like he must still have a lot in the tank, and with teams like Buffalo having guard battles between Andy Levitre and Chad Rinehart it's puzzling that he can't seem to get a job.
We may have seen the last of him.
